I’m very impressed with the new BurdaStyle, which is now in beta release. My love affair with open-source sewing patterns continues.
This website has a database of free downloadable patterns, which you can print out and use to sew all kinds of nifty things. Better yet, Burda allows you to customize their patterns, and then re-sell your customized creations. You can even post your version on the BurdaStyle site, and link it to your own Etsy store.
Then there’s a bank of text, photo, and video tutorials, to which you can add. They encompass full projects, sewing tricks, and basic sewing techniques. I also love their Sewpedia, a fun-to-browse compendium of sewing, fabric, and fashion terms.
And as if that weren’t enough, there’s a wonderful interactive photo-biography of founder Aenne Burda.
Way to rock the crafty web, BurdaStyle!

Thanks for the awesome information. I’m surprised everyday about what’s on the Internet that I haven’t found yet. Now, I just need to use all that information.
