Hello there! I'm Sister Diane and I have two grand passions: making crafts and making media. That's what I write about here, and sometimes, I get all thoughtful about internet culture and creative small businesses. Thanks for stopping by! Would you like some tea?

Do Stuff! …a Leethal zine

I find so much great stuff on the CRAFT blog, I sometimes think I should be paying Natalie a monthly finder’s fee.

Latest favorite thing is Leethal’s zine, Do Stuff! I just got my copy, and it absolutely rocks. Look at the cover, above. It’s re-purposed from a Cactus Cooler carton!

Lee has sewn a photo print to the cover, and also bound the whole zine with machine stitching along the spine. Such attention to detail in the zine world always makes me swoon. (Plus, how adorable is that photo?)

Inside, all sorts of DIY Goodness. I hope Lee won’t mind my quoting this bit:

“Use your brain. Challenge yourself. Try new things. Stretch your limits. Be nice to your body and exercise your mind. Go places, learn stuff, and teach others. Venture outside your idea of who you are and what you do. Don’t let yourself be defined, don’t be afraid to change, and don’t ever say you’re bored! Do stuff!”

Hallelujia!

The inside layouts are just awesome — Lee really rocks the cut-and-paste. You’ll find tutorials for her ninja mitts, in both knit and crochet versions, and her world-famous T-shirt hats.

Plus, recipes, a guide to Las Vegas, an article about photography with an SLR camera, and plenty of other stuff I won’t reveal here.

I can’t recommend this zine highly enough. Thanks so much, Lee! (Psst… head over here to get yourself a copy.)
