Hello there! I'm Sister Diane and I have two grand passions: making crafts and making media. That's what I write about here, and sometimes, I get all thoughtful about internet culture and creative small businesses. Thanks for stopping by! Would you like some tea?

April Showers bring The Sampler

There’s no coincidence to this: yesterday the sun made one of its increasingly-rare appearances in Portland, and The Sampler arrived.

There’s so much amazing stuff in this one, I’ll likely do two posts about it. So for this first one, I’ll share:

This cute-cute-cute zippered bag from Barry’s Farm. There’s machine embroidery on the cupcake! And the envelope it came in is so pretty – and also machine-stitched.

. . . But then when you look inside –aah! There’s a flannel lining, complete with smiling candy. I adore this bag. And you must go to the website and see the t-shirt with the marshmallow roasting the man over a campfire.

Next up is this sweet notepad by De Marco Designs. I love Mariah’s work – it’s so simple and poignant. She has these great stationery subscriptions, too, where you can get a different design each month.

I love this pretty fabric flower from Made by Tess. The card says “ring in spring with this little floral thing.” If spring ever does arrive in the Pacafic NW, then I absolutely will!

Tess makes these great Reused Bags, as well as aprons.

. . . And then, there’s this tasty coaster set from My Favorite Mirror. These are Jill Bliss designs, featuring native California flowers. The coasters themselves are rubber-backed, and they come in this pretty tin. Makes me want to be the kind of woman who uses coasters.

Why “My Favorite Mirror?” Because they also have hundreds of wonderful designs for pocket mirrors.
