Here are the fruits of the March Quilt Block Swap, in which I was lucky enough to be partnered with Kristin, who created the whole thing. (She’s also the inventive mind behind Craft Leftovers.)
Kristin’s block theme is “Buttons.†Mine is “Tiki Paradise.†I really love that vintagey tropical fabric she used on mine. If you want a good excuse to brush up on your quilting skills, this swap is a great place to do it.

Kristin also sent along one of her crocheted dishcloths. (You can find the pattern for these here, or get them ready-made here, by the way.) I didn’t want to use it at first, because it’s so pretty, but then Kristin explained that it’s crocheted from a mix of wool and cotton yarns, so it would partially felt when I used it.

I admit that I hemmed and hawed all week long, but yesterday, too intrigued by the whole felting thing, finally took the plunge. Here’s photographic evidence, Kristin – I finally used it! It feels great in the hand, and gets dishes clean. And it’s felting up nicely.
. . . Anytime I can combine household chores and crafting, that’s a good day.

Yea! I’m so glad you used it! I like doing the dishes so much more, now that I can do them with my own handmade dishcloths… plus they are so bright, it makes doing dishes less dreary. I love my quilt blocks too! Thank you Sister D!
