Hello there! I'm Sister Diane and I have two grand passions: making crafts and making media. That's what I write about here, and sometimes, I get all thoughtful about internet culture and creative small businesses. Thanks for stopping by! Would you like some tea?

The crafty side of Sears

This 1964 Sears catalog is one of my favorite things ever — a Church of Craft donation from Teresa.

I could look at the clothes for hours. (Have done, actually. . . they’re amazing!) But there’s also a whole lot of craft supplies in here:

All these cute fabrics — and only 33 cents a yard!

Mohair yarn — $1.09 a ball!

. . . And this is just so charming.

The Sears Archive has some info on where you can score old catalogs, by the way.

  • Wow. That knitting apron is pretty fabulous. I can envision myself wandering about the house, doing chores, while knitting and talking on the phone. I even have a headsest for my phone… ;-)
