Hello there! I'm Sister Diane and I have two grand passions: making crafts and making media. That's what I write about here, and sometimes, I get all thoughtful about internet culture and creative small businesses. Thanks for stopping by! Would you like some tea?

Meme-Time

Lee tagged me — and then Susan tagged me — for the “7 random things about yourself” meme. And so, here we go:

1. I love the idea of being a good cook, and having a big stash of quick, healthy recipies. But, unless I make myself plan meals and buy groceries, I can easily lapse into living on bagels and Mac & Cheese. For months at a time.

2. The biggest celebrity crushes of my life, in no particular order: Davy Jones, Gene Kelly, Zach Galligan, Simon LeBon, Nathan Fillion. Only the Fillion crush creeps me out a little, because he’s younger than me.

3. Having grown up in Phoenix, AZ, too much sunshine now kind of distresses me.

4. I’m a big movie geek. I spend an inordinate amount of time hunting up production trivia on imdb and Wikipedia, and I have to watch the commentary track for every DVD I rent or buy.

5. The first time I heard a recording of Dinah Washington
singing “Goodbye,” I was so enthralled I forgot to breathe for a minute.

6. I was a very, very shy kid. One time, in an attempt at incentive, my father offered to pay me a quarter for every new friend I could make at school. I wish I still had that deal going — it’d be a lot more lucrative now!

7. I adore Old-Time Radio, especially George and Gracie and Jack Benny. I fall asleep to old radio programs every night.

. . . And now I get to tag seven more people! So, Gretchin, Christine, Kristin, Serena, Jeff, Katin, and Linda — if you haven’t been tagged already, you’re up!
