This is cool – Interweave Press’s new Felt special issue. I’ve spent more time yearning to felt than I have actually felting, so this magazine is a really good kick in the pants.
Some of my favorite things here:
- Karen Emery and Christine Gann’s tutorial for needle-felting into cookie cutters. So many possibilities!
- Robin Russo’s excellent article on the felting properties of various fibers.

- This gorgeous needle-felting, which Patricia Spark approaches like watercolor painting. There’s a good tutorial on this technique.

- Amy Clarke Moore’s tutorial for wet-felted beads, and Dustin Wedekind’s Berriat Lariat design. I’m really liking the look of those felt leaves lined with seed beads.
. . . And there’s a great roundup of recycled felt projects from the magazine’s staff, which you can check out online.

Mmm, felting. I’m with you on the whole more time spent over yearing to felt rather than actually felting. :)
