Thank you for highlighting loom knitting on CraftyPod. Isela and Denise are in my opinion the superstars of the looms. I have learned so much from the creative women on Isela’s forum and their ezine. They are great teachers, giving and sharing with great patience.

I really enjoyed this story about Loom knitting and think Isela and Denise have done a fantastic job in promoting this great craft.

They have been very inspiring to many to loom knit items for charity projects and it is really special for many of us to be able to help the needy in so many ways with this quick and easy way to knit useable items.

Keep up the great work and hugs to both of you…………..

I loved the podcast. I have purchased both the books and have many looms now but plan a few more in the future. This is a great hobby, fast and easy.I like the fact that children can learn quickly.Adults go on to flat knit and make some unique items. I just learned short rows and made a felted rose on the round loom . I can do anything with these looms.Socks are much easier also. Go out and try them, you will become an “addict” like many others have become.

WOW! This was a wonderful introduction to “CraftyPod” for me and I hope it was an introduction to loom knitting for a lot of other crafters out there.

We, as loom knitters, are very happy with how this craft is growing and we are so proud of the folks who are our Stars. They are our mentors, our teachers, and, yes, our friends. No two folks typify that more than Isela and Denise, so when they created the Loom Knitters Circle e-zine, I felt (and I think others agree) that I had been given a personal gift. Now maybe outsiders will take us seriously.

Of course it has become so much more than that. It is a centralized place to share ideas, get answers, learn more about the history of our craft, and, maybe best of all, find interesting new patterns. We have many internet groups and we share a lot there, but the e-zine pulls it all together.

Of course having Isela on Knitty Gritty was a great advertisement for all of us. But by inviting two of our biggest “Stars” to be interviewed on your CraftyPod show, you have opened this wonderful craft to another whole world of crafters. I, for one, would like to thank you on behalf of both loom knitters and other crafters who will now be able to add this great craft to their list of creative activities.

Thank you, Diane, for the interview and for this wonderful site. I go now to become a subscriber. I look forward to sharing info on lots of crafts, not the least of which, is KWON (Knitting With Out Needles).

A fellow craft lover and ardent loom knitter,

    Jeannine

  • Fascinating look at loom knitting, I really enjoyed it. It’s not something that I know a lot about, although I did some simple spool knitting as a child (here in the UK we call it French Knitting, for some reason), so it was great to get an insight into the craft. Very inspiring too to see how crafters are using the internet to connect with each other and develop their craft.
