So, the good news is, I got a new Mac Mini this week. She’s a screamin’-fast little marvel, and I’m so happy she’s here.
What’s interesting is how deeply we tend to move into a computer, and how much is involved in transferring all the bookmarks, preferences, files, and quirky bits of organization over to a new machine.
Add to this the fact that I’m moving from a very old-school Mac that still ran OS 9, to a brand-new Intel Mac, and you really have a recipe for confusion. (Not to mention, client deadlines I’m not meeting – eeps!)
. . .All of which means, when it comes to Crafty Goodness this week, I got nothin’.
So perhaps you’d like to see some recent goodness on DIY Alert instead:

- Geri Jarvis makes these flippin’ incredible pendants and pins from plastic bottle caps and thrift-store toy parts. I have one with Cookie Monster in it, and people always ask about it.

- Tara Tamaribuchi-Gibbs makes these very cute reflectors to keep you visible while walking or biking at night. Neato!

- Noelle Withington is a maker of awesome softies. I think they have so much personality. And they can make pancakes.
I’m going on a crochet bender this evening, and teaching craft classes all weekend, so I should have something crafty to report soon.
. . . Now, back to the Land of Transition. :-)

Transitioning from an old school Mac to a new one is really hard! Our old Mac was 7 years old, and un-updated when we ditched it, and moved in to our pretty new one. (The old one had developed dymensia… it couldn’t remember key things like where the internal modem was… so sad.) It took a solid month before I felt comfortable. I kept feeling like my computer was smarter than I was… But, now I love my speedy wonder! I do all sorts of nifty things now, that I had never dreamed of before.
Hang in there… And, those Apple guys on the phone are super-keen-neat-o and nice. They always waited until I was off of the phone before they started laughting at me. They even helped me come up with a way to transfer my old files.
