Thought you might like to see some of the cool goings-on recently over at DIY Alert. P-Town = Talent.

Julie, the proprietress of Handmade Julz, makes beautiful rings, bracelets, and pendants with colorful wire. The graphics in the centers are all her own design as well. I think her work is so cheerful, and I’m amazed at how she wrangles that wire into such casual-looking swirls. Check out out our DIY Alert interview.

PenFelt is a well-known name here in Portland. LeBrie Rich, who is both proprietress and Duchess of Felt, makes incredible jewelry and wearables. This scarf makes me dizzy, it’s so lovely. Check out the interview for the story of the most unusual thing LeBrie has ever felted.

What is this? It’s a garden globe, made from a bowling ball and marbles. Genius. Megan Klepp’s business, Ta-Dah, makes innovative things like this from reclaimed and recycled materials. Take a peek at our interview to see her spoon mirror. It’s too cool.
Church of Craft today . . . photos later!

Hey Diane ~
As always, thanks for keepin’ postin’ this great stuff.
I have a question for you – and feel free to direct me elsewhere…
Ya know those awesome rings Julie’s making? Is it at all legal to use images from magazines for crafts like these (if you’re going to sell them)? Got any good sources you’d reccommend?
Thanks again!
