What fun! How fortunate you are to have such a wonderful tradition. Thank you for sharing your experiences- you made me all teary eyed too!
BTW, we make gingerbread houses and we LOVE to eat them. That's the best part! I'll try to get photos to you this year.

This is an amazing podcast. You guys are a hoot! :) My favorite part was your mother explaining how she made book stacks (with cardboard tops) to support the drying roof and commented that there may be a more scientifically accepted method. For a tiny moment, I imagined Gingerbread Scientists in their white lab coats making emphatic notes about improper roof support techniques. :)

I must say, I got a little teary-eyed at the end, too. You guys are so sweet. :)

It was such a lovely interview! You are very lucky to have such a crafty (and funny!) mom. :-) I never made Gingerbreads houses as I don't think this is a well-known craft in here, but it was so fascinating listening to how it is done. It looks like a lot of work but very rewarding and whimsical. :-)

I have never posted on your site before so Hello! and let me say that I absolutely love your podcast and website. I listen to your podcasts at work (which is not a good idea sometimes because I want to go home and craft stuff when I need to be working!).
