Seen Suzi Blu?

So, it should be said that I haven’t really found my way into crafty internet video. I’m such a crazy multi-tasker that sitting still for most internet video makes me all twitchy. (Unless it’s some vintage Sesame Street. That I can get behind.)

But Kirsty sent me a link to Suzi Blu’s videos on YouTube, and I’ve been really digging them. You should check them out.

Suzi Blu is a mixed-media artist, and she produces several series of vids: How to Keep an Art Journal, Suzi Blu Art Vlog (that’s Video Blog for the uninitiated), and Art Playshops with Suzi Blu.

Everything I’ve seen is fun and colorful, very well-edited, and at about 3 minutes, just long enough. Suzi is very kind and encouraging, and has lots to say about the creative process. And I love watching her paint, collage, and otherwise make.

These are excellent “inspiration break” videos to watch when the mundane part of your day gets a little overwhelming. Check out her blog, too. (Note: There is some explicit content on Suzi’s blog, so if you link there, please consider yourself forewarned.)

Thank you, Suzi! Thank you, Kirsty!

  • I'm glad you enjoyed them Diane. I like Sesame Street too and once lost a whole evening looking it up on YouTube.
  • I've seen her! I love her vids! And I'm ADHD, myself. Maybe not clinically, but I can certainly identify with being a multi-multi-multi-tasker.
  • What is about Sesame Street that's so timeless? I just checked out the youtube link, and I was laughing out loud and I'm full of warm fuzzies. I haven't seen it in years, but man, did I love that show. Thank you, Sister Diane!
  • Oooh, thanks for posting this! I'm embarking on a *huge* choreography project, and I'm feeling a little overwhelmed. What she said on the "How to Keep an Art Journal" link made me take a deep breath!
