This is such a frequent scene at my house right now, I thought I’d document it for posterity.
Stacks and stacks of felted sweater pieces, anal-retentively sorted by color so that, each time I pack for another class, I can assemble a judicious balance of colors and textures.
(Yes, this is insane. But my mother would understand. Right, Mom?)

Much less organized is my rapidly-growing pile of sweater-scraps.
I can sense some kind of crazy-quilt style wool blanket, perhaps several miles long, in my not-too-distant future.

That looks like a lot of fun! I never find sweaters that colorful just gray ones! Maybe a patchwork scarf for starters? Wool is so fun to work with!

Actually, the piles all look very nice and neat and colorful. Would love to see something made out of these!!

Wool scraps make the best pin cushions too.
Is it just me or does that bit of patterned felt look like space invaders?

I’ve been an admirer of yours for quite some time, and you have responded to my questions before. All in all you amaze me. I could go on and on but suffice it to say, I truly wish you were here in Toronto, On, (Canada’s largest city by the way) organizing our Church of Craft. Ours is such a disappointment. I could go on and on about this, but enough said. – Canadian Gail

Oooo they all look so yummy!!! I just found out about a recycled wool sweater craft class happening at Portland area libraries and am thinking about signing up. You wouldn’t by any chance be teaching any of those, would you? The one nearest to me is the Capitol Hill location. :)

How about a quilting bee with all those scraps? A big group of crafty types could get together and make a crazy quilt style blanket (or blankets) which could then be donated to a blanket drive. Maybe a future Church of Craft event?

I don’t think it’s weird- in fact I am just jealous! I *never* find wool sweaters in op-shops here. I would like to reach into the screen and steal your pile!
