Today, we’re getting a big dose of Cute, via these books from Aranzi Aronzo.
(If you’re unfamiliar, Aranzi Aronzo is a Japanese company that, in its own words, “makes what it feels like the way it feels like and then sells the stuff.” They’ve designed a series of very adorable characters, and then, in a pretty bold move, offer patterns and directions in their many books and magazines, so you can make your own versions.)
I’m a big Aranzi Aronzo fan, and especially now that these books have been released in English translations. (Utterly charming English translations.)

Cute Dolls has large-scale patterns for many of the the best-known Aranzi Aronzo characters. Sprite here is one of my favorites. I love a soft toy that’s pensive.

. . . And how much do I love Monkey’s deep worry lines? There’s also a Bad Guy pattern, but I’ve already blogged about my crush on him. I’ll definitely need to make one of those.

Fun Dolls, then, goes a little farther afield, with some really adorable patterns. All these colorful terry-cloth bunnies and bears make me smile.

These are the Unmotivated Kids. The pattern instructions admonish you not to stuff them with too much fiberfill, lest they look “too motivated.” I love that.

And then . . . I am so sad to have discovered these after both of my nephews were too old for them!
I’ll blog about Cute Stuff tomorrow. I gotta go lie down from all this cuteness right now.
