Susan and I were at the Knittn’ Kitten yesterday (it’s been waaaay too long), and she found these booklets for me. She has the thrift store eye.
How much do I love that combo of plaid and plastic canvas? And those cup-holders that turn glasses into mugs? This set has “Bachelor Apartment” written all over it.

Then there’s this amazing Greek set. Check out that wine caddy – tres chic! (But in all seriousness, the vase has possibilities.)

Here’s a set for all your sewing-storage needs, complete with handy pictograms. I thought, from all these earth tones, that these were 1970′s booklets, but both are copyright 1981. Go figure.
But look closely . . . because there’s something interesting afoot:

I’m pretty sure that this little white motif is meant to be a two-hole button. But what does it really resemble? That’s right – a little skull!
. . .Thus pre-dating the big trend by some 20 years. :-)

I like the set pictured on the top as a desk set! Sister D, you make me like plastic canvas! My mom has a billion fiber craft items from the seventies. She’s only let me break into her knitting and crochet box so far, but little does she know I’ve absconded with her plastic canvas stash. (Shhh! Don’t tell! She’ll never know.) We’ll see what I make!

My first thought was “skulls” and not “buttons” as well!

I have trouble converting this very old brand of PC patterns to today’s way of using patterns. Anyone experience this?
