Hello there! I'm Sister Diane and I have two grand passions: making crafts and making media. That's what I write about here, and sometimes, I get all thoughtful about internet culture and creative small businesses. Thanks for stopping by! Would you like some tea?

Making good use of my discretionary

I’ve been on a series of mini-splurges lately. Here are some recent scores:

Above are two of Amanda‘s adorable pins. I love that robot so much! I’m so impressed that she etches these things freehand with a dental drill – that’s a steady hand. (Amanda is a new Portlander, too – all good things migrate here eventually.

Cathy sent me a link to this eBay auction, and I had to bid. What a funny and-yet-kind-of-charming concept. I love how old craft books would feature projects like this sometimes – no earthly use, just something silly.

However, there is an interesting little detail in here – I like how multiple layers of plastic canvas are stacked and then whip-stitched together for dimension. *filing this away for my someday plastic canvas magnum opus.*

Have you seen Cathy’s series of posts about plastic canvas stitched with Swiss-Straw? Beautiful, beautiful things.

. . . And hey! How did these get in here?
