The new issue of INDIE ARTS, the DVD Magazine is out, and I’m in it. I recorded an interview with producer Karen Landey about the Church of Craft and what it takes to start and organize a craft group. Since I’m so much more of an audio girl than a video one, it was cool to get a glimpse into that process.
Karen also generously donated a copy of Issue 7 to give away here on the blog. And I assure you, there are many more interesting things in it than me discussing Church of Craft! Take a look at this preview page, where you can also download some small video clips from this issue.
To enter, please leave a comment here, and I’ll choose a winner on Monday.
Permit me this little request, though: if you win, then I will contact you for your mailing address so I can send your prize. If this makes you uncomfortable, then it’s probably best not to enter.
Okay, that said, good luck, my friends!

UPDATE: Congrats to Meg, who scored the DVD. It’s winging its way to you . . . .

Actually, I think you discussing Church of Craft is VERY interesting, but I’ve been interested in checking this DVD magazine since you first reported on it. So consider me tossing my hat in the ring. ;)

Nice! congrats. I hadn’t heard of this magazine before, looks faboo. I’m looking forward to exploring the previews.
BTW the link on their “Guide issue” page for the DIY alert is wrong. I tried to email Karen or someone to let them know but couldn’t find a contact email address.

Oooo. I would love to see it, even if I don’t win.
I started a COC last fall here in Chattanooga, and even though we have regular crafters – it could be stronger. I would love to hear some advice.
Congrats and thanks for the contest!

Hi Sister Diane,
I love your blog and your podcast—you have really stimulated my awareness and acceptence of my own multicraftuality! Which is really a good thing, accept when it gets in the way off all the other things I’m supposed to be doing…
Anyway, thanks very much,
And, please consider me “entered” for the contest.

how cool for you to be featured! I’ve seen clips of this DVD/mag before… it looks very interesting. I would love to see your interview, and find out how to start/sustain such a group!! I know there are crafty people out there; it’s just finding them that’s the hard part!

Hi Diane!
Y’know, I love you blog, everytime I visit I learn/find out/be amazed by something new! *grin* First I find out about zines through you and now I know that there’s a DVD zine. Now that’s something I never even thought of. I don’t think I could do something like that, I have a hard enough time staying still when someone takes my picture! *laugh*
I think this Indie Arts DVD is kinda interesting, I’m snooping around their site right now. (Although I really should be working! *laugh*) I’ll take a look at their video clips once I get home. But yay you for getting an interview in it! I’m sure you did a great job!

Sister Diane:
I received an iPod for Christmas from my kids and found your podcasts on iTunes. I have listened to all of them from the beginning over the past three months and have REALLY enjoyed them. I think you are an amazing person. I have loved all the interviews and crafts that you have brought to us. I just want to thank you for doing such a wonderful job and sharing your wonderful talents and enthusiasm.
Thanks again!

Oh my Miyagi of podcasting – like I said, I think I need to go back to the drawing board on the podcast. I thought I had sent you the link already, but since I haven’t I’m going to be elusive and withhold it! I will however pop by and say hello because I can’t resist a bloggy give-away! Congrats on your fifteen minutes!

I’ve heard about Church of Craft around the interwebs, and I’ve been to their site, so I think it would be awesome to hear more of their story!

I’d love to try out the DVD Magazine (cool idea!), but I’d especially love to see your portion. The Church of Craft idea has always appealed to me, but I’ve been hesitant to commit myself to starting one locally. Would love to get a little more info.
Thanks for the great giveaway!

I love your podcast, thanks for doing it.
The Church of Craft has yet to reach Australian shores. I would love to learn more about it.
