Watch Portlanders Make Stuff!

Three of my favorite Portland makers recently did excellent crafty TV spots on our local morning show, AM NW. The show has posted videos to its website, so I wanted to share. (You gotta follow the links – I can’t embed the vids here.)

Up top, Bridget did a demo of her super-cool recycled bike tire jewelry. She makes awesome cuffs and earrings, and now I’m adding “bike tires” to my crafty to-do list. You can watch the video here, and see a crazy-good three part tutorial over at her blog.

Teresa, our local seed-bead prodigy, showed how she makes her beaded hand earrings, and also displayed some of her amazing work. You have to see the beaded head purse. Here’s the video.

Christine does amazing things with old vinyl records. In this video, she shows how to paint a mandala on a record, and shows off some of her record clocks.

  • So cool to see Teresa at work. Thanks for posting these! What a cool local station to have all these crafty ladies on !
  • Diane, thanks so much for the shout-out!
