Good podcast! I enjoy hearing about male crafters. My teenage son is very good at jewelry making- I first blogged about here: http://tenderarts.blogspot.com/2007/05/crafty-diversions.html and he’s only gotten better since then!

Sister Diane, are you old enough to remember the 70′s? The craft world was much more unisex then. Then in the 80′s it returned to the girls unfortunately. I do hope we are on the brink of a sexual revolution- diversity, diversity!

I listned to this today while I painted (oiled in) the outside deck in the garden. I'm going to check out these guys blogs now. Another great show you could make would be women who do mainly manly crafts like woodcrafts etc etc. Visit the DIY diva for example for inspiration! I love that kind of stuff but it wasn't encouraged to saw and stuff when I was a kid! :-/

WOW! I was just finally able to listen to this episode this morning. I LOVE IT. Not just for the male perspective, but for the general fantastic comments on crafting and the need to make things. There are a lot of really beautiful insights in this show. I need to listen again just to make sure I didn’t miss anything.

Diane! This is SO welcome!! I have been wondering why the men weren’t being represented more, and here you are. I love it that you chose men who are hobbyists and bloggers. I found them really fascinating. Thanks for taking the time to interview and edit and cast!
