Just a quick trip to the Market this week, as we were trying to get in and out before the heat.
I’ve become disillusioned with the Hillsboro Farmer’s Market, I must say. Here it is, nearly July, and there was only one real vegetable vendor, several strawberry vendors, and the rest is crafts. Not that I don’t love the crafts, of course – I just need produce at the moment.
So, not many good veggie shots this week, just these:

We did score some Mango Pepper Jelly. You put it over some cream cheese, and serve it with sesame rice crackers. In-sane-ly tasty.

This week’s eats. The first box of strawberries we bought wasn’t very sweet, so I gluttonously bought another one from a different vendor. I think the not-great ones can be saved with that balsamic vinegar syrup. Missing my favas, too. Not to be all glass-half-empty or anything.

. . . Luckily, our air-conditioned train arrived to take us home very promptly.

OK, I was going to make a joke about your “heat” and then I checked out your forecast … WOWZA! You’re only 3 degrees under our 100 forecast for today! What’s up with THAT!? Eeesh!
Stay cool! And get that hot weather out of the way before we get there, ok?
Seeing the train makes me want to be there … NOW! can.not.wait. :)
