Hello there! I'm Sister Diane and I have two grand passions: making crafts and making media. That's what I write about here, and sometimes, I get all thoughtful about internet culture and creative small businesses. Thanks for stopping by! Would you like some tea?

  • Bravo! Another super CP, Sister! Very interesting to learn that scrapbooking is more popular than golf – but what about disc golf? ;)

I also really liked that you discussed the differences between art journals and scrapbooking; I always figured I was art journaling because I wasn’t scrapbooking photos of my kids (which I don’t have), but as you said, the differentiating lines are very blurry indeed. (Sounds a lot like the whole art v. craft thing to me.)

Anyway, so great to hear your voice again!

I think scrapbooking is a great hobby or business – I’ve made just a few pages over the years but am starting a new travel one and also have plans for a time capsule one.

And what a timely show – I am just about to announce my partnership with a good friend on turning scrapbooking into a business!

  • I loved hearing Lain’s take on scrap booking. I’m definitely guilty of harshly judging “scrapbookers,” but this interview changed that perspective. Glad you’re back podcasting – I’ve missed you!

  • I was diagnosed with breast cancer the first of June. I immediately started an on-line journal to work out my frustrations and let my friends and family know how I was doing. It has been great for me to write all these things down. Here’s the journal blog: http://fitterknitter.blogspot.com/

  • On a lighter side, I was making scrapbooks before all the hoopla and fine papers. I think the old ones I made of photos in those horrible magnetic albums are so unique. I cut out and around photos and brochures to document to wonderful vacations with our kids in the 70s. I now make digital scrapbooks. I’m not obsessive. I only create them for special occasions.
