. . . Speaking of spool-knitting, look at this. This little horse, a gift from Laura at the last Church of Craft, is constructed from spool-knit cord. There’s no wire inside, but you could totally insert some big, soft copper wire into the cord and make all kinds of bendy animal and people shapes. Wish I had time to noodle with this!
Lastly, take a look at this post on the New York Times blog, which references both CraftyPod and Extreme Craft’s Garth Johnson. Now there’s one for my mom’s refrigerator!

so, i went to this NYT article and read it the other day. then i realized i was probably tired or hungover, so i set it aside.

i am completely loving the little red horse!! my daughter who is 6 is just getting to grips with spool knitting but in her words ‘what is the point? what does it make?’…..my answer….a little red horse!!! but how? any chance you can take the guess work out of it? I would love to know how you made it.
