Hey! The nice folks at Chronicle Books have sent me a Sock Knitting Kit to give away on this here blog. You can find out more about what’s in this kit over here.
Now, will you indulge me for a moment? Last time I had a giveaway here, it ended up getting listed on some “Free Sweepstakes” website, and I was inundated with entries.
Right, that’s the point, isn’t it?, you may be saying. Well, not exactly. I like to have giveaways here because I so appreciate you reading my blog, and it’s nice to be able to offer you a little gifty from time to time.
I have to say it: moderating two-word comments from folks who only stopped by for the freebie just isn’t part of the community experience of blogging for me.
So, here’s how I’d like to work this drawing. If you leave a comment on this post no later than Wednesday, 11/19 at noon PST, you’ll be entered to win the kit. In your comment, will you please tell me about how you plan to use it? Will you teach yourself sock knitting? Is it a gift for someone?
(A note: if you make an anonymous comment, you won’t be able to win, because I’ll have no way to reach you if you do! Please do leave at least your email address.)
I’ll choose a winner by random drawing on Thursday. Thanks for listening. And entering. And reading. And being so cool.

Congrats to Stephanie, who won the kit! I’m contacting you now for your shipping address, you big winner!

I would so LOVE to learn how to knit socks! I’m a successful crocheter, but I’ve always found knitting to be such a challenge and I can’t quite figure out why. I always see the coolest socks on knitting sites…I want to learn how to make these too! I think this kit would be a great start.
Thanks!
Pat
Hey Sister Diane! I’ve been knitting and crocheting for a long time but haven’t gotten up the nerve to try knitting socks yet so this would be a nice way to try it. (Part of my struggle is there is so much yarn out there and so many differing recommendations on what to use to knit socks….)
Thanks! – Jen

I’m an avid sock knitter myself, but I really want to get my BFF into sock knitting! So that’s what I’d do with it!
Just found your blog from Corporate Free Christmas

I’d give the kit to the friend who taught me to knit and who is dying to try socks but hasn’t quite the nerve. That would make me happy!
Thanks for all your beautiful work!
