Hello there! I'm Sister Diane and I have two grand passions: making crafts and making media. That's what I write about here, and sometimes, I get all thoughtful about internet culture and creative small businesses. Thanks for stopping by! Would you like some tea?

The Grinches are out in full force around my place. Grinch Sisters are crabbing about cooking the huge Thanksgiving feasts they insist on producing every year and GrinchMister has donned his annual look of Christmas martyrdom. He doesn’t like any of it, not the people, the presents, or the sentiment of it all.

Imagine what a gift this podcast with your mother is to people who embrace the joy of Christmas–and Solstice, and the rest of the days you and your mother talked about. I found a new one to celebrate this year, the annual celebration of Ice Cream and Violins Day on December 13th. I found it on this site:
    http://www.allabouticecream.com/History/nationaldays.html
My violin playing daughter in frigid Minneapolis will be receiving a card from me in honor of the day, with a little money to buy herself and a friend an ice cream cone.
It warms up my heart strings just to think of it.

    Thanks for the podcast.
(and sorry about the length of this comment.)

  • What fun to hear your Mom again. I’ve always enjoyed Christmas, although it’s not a big production in our house but one thing we usually do is make a Winter altar on the big window ledge half way up the stairs.

What a great podcast!! I’m so glad you brought your Mom back again this year – you two are great together. And thanks also for inspiring her to start her own blog. Both of you are really interesting. Happy Holidays!
