‘Tis the (Zine) Season

This is the scene around here today - we’re in final production on this year’s Christmas Zine! Lots of proof-reading and last-minute writing, fueled by Christmas music and hot beverages.

Here’s K., adding page numbers to the small dummy zine we use to plan out which articles will go where. Later on, this becomes my paste-up guide. (I know, I know - there are ways to do this without traditional paste-up. I’m old-school.)

It’s so nice to have a partner who’ll make a Christmas zine with me every year! This is our fourth year of this endeavor, and although some years it’s a real crunch to get it done, it’s always worth it.

To the printer tomorrow!

Yay! Your Christmas Zine makes me so happy. I really would love to start doing something similar with Matt, but I don’t think it’s in the cards for this year. Maybe next year!

    I’m sending over my order!

You guys are such total rock stars! This just makes my day seeing this in action. :)

Ah! Another old school paste-up practitioner! It’s true that there are newer ways to do the job, but they never seem like as much fun as breaking out the rubber cement and rule.

Your zine is a wonderful idea and your pleasure in doing it is great to read about.

You’re making me go all “Christmas spirity”. :-) Like Geek+nerd said, I wish this is something me and Olivier could do together, as well. Next weekend, we’re putting up the Christmas tree together.

Will you be selling some of your Christmas zine in your Etsy shop this year, as well? :-D I would love to get one!

  7. Sally McEntire says:

Oh, oh, oh! I want one!

  8. Chris says:

I want all your past issues. I can’t stress this enough. I have hunted for this post so I can bug you about it. You can send them to me in June, but I’m going to keep bugging you until I get them all.

    Love,
