Hello there! I'm Sister Diane and I have two grand passions: making crafts and making media. That's what I write about here, and sometimes, I get all thoughtful about internet culture and creative small businesses. Thanks for stopping by! Would you like some tea?

Resource Roundup #10

A bunch of things to head us into the holiday weekend:

Look at these adorable Marshmallow Men, from my Mom’s blog! They’re based on a magazine clipping she’s been saving since 1960. She has a full tutorial – a great little project for bored, post-Thanksgiving kiddos.

I just saw on Kristin’s blog that, due to a printer error, she has a bunch of extra copies of her holiday Craft Leftovers Zine. This is an awesome issue, by the way – recipes for homemade eggnog, a pattern for a cute tea pouch, Christmas reminiscences, and more. Kristin has put them up in her Etsy shop. Grab one while you can!

Have you seen Craftier? It’s rad! It’s an online magazine about crafts. Beautifully designed and loaded with tutorials and other goodness. Take a look! (Many thanks to Laura of Bugs and Fishes for the pointer!)

The Portland, OR Craft Mafia is sponsoring a Bailout Scavenger Hunt. Enter to win everything you see here by hunting for the Craft Mafia logo in a series of online shops – and the contest is open to folks outside Portland, too. Get all the details over here.

Locals, don’t forget that this Sunday is the annual Secret Society Sale! Handmade goodies, a beautiful venue, and 10% of proceeds benefit the Oregon Food Bank.
