Hello there! I'm Sister Diane and I have two grand passions: making crafts and making media. That's what I write about here, and sometimes, I get all thoughtful about internet culture and creative small businesses. Thanks for stopping by! Would you like some tea?

Resource Roundup #14

A few things for you while I’m away at CHA…

Etsy has a special community project going on for V-Day. Here’s the scoop from Adam:

“In the spirit of love giving, Etsy has created a special project called Special Delivery. In a nutshell, this Valentine’s Day, we’re teaming up with Citymeals-on-Wheels to bring nutritious meals, handmade greeting cards and companionship to thousands of homebound elderly New Yorkers.

Our goal is to collect 18,000 greeting cards, one for each person that Citymeals services. Then, on Valentine’s Day, several of us will be volunteering at Citymeals, delivering said meals and cards, and spending some time with our elders to help brighten their day.”

Nice! Wanna help supply the handmade cards? Learn how over here.

Mariah at Playful Learning has just posted a great tutorial for these twig-bound blank books. I agree with her, no household should be without blank books!

Hey, locals – save the date: Sunday, February 1 is the third session of Bargain Hunting 101. It’s 55 vendors, spanning clothing, art supplies, home and garden furnishings, handmade hats, and accessories.

None of them will be selling at regular prices, so it’s a great chance to score locally-made goods on the cheap. Find out more over here.
