Wow, love that book! I want to make the cafe curtains, the tree and that awesome necklace! I have few buttons though. I need to find some on ebay or a thrift store or something!

P.S. I LOVE the wooden buttons on your bag! Wooden buttons seem to be the hardest ones for me to use, and this was a lovely idea.

this is so timely as i recently bought a small trove of vintage buttons and rescued an amazing batch from my grandmother’s old jewelry case. since i don’t usually make things that button, i wasn’t really sure what to do with them all and now i’ve got plenty of ideas.

Oh, I’m sorry to make all these comments, Diane, and you can delete them, but that bag you made is so utterly KEWL I had to tell you. I love wooden buttons. Is wood a renewable resource? oh! yes! I am going to go get wooden buttons to make my styrofoam tree with and then stick a few green pipecleaners in it for branches so the buttons are still visible as the wood. Will that look silly? They’ll be decorously curved and twisted, of course. Oh, Cathie will be horrified!! One more thing in the house, she said, other than U.S. currency, and I’m out.

It’s going to be a great adventure!!!
