Hey! Check it out!
I have a new tutorial up on the CRAFT blog. I made three jewelry pieces using wood inlay strips, which you can get at woodworking stores or online. They’re intricate and beautiful, and best of all, they cut with a utility knife, so they’re easy to use for all kinds of crafty applications.
Go take a look at the how-to. Believe me, this is woodworking at its simplest – even I can do it.

And seriously, look at all these amazing inlay strips! (These are from Inlays.com.) Aren’t they pretty? Imagine the possibilities….

I am SO TOTALLY GOING TO MAKE THESE. Ok, I will really buy the stuff and leave it on the shelf next to the foil and the unopened paint and the canvasses and the silk screen mumble and the lino cutting tools…. But I will INTEND to. They are beautiful and the tutorial rocks.

Here’s a simple nipper to cut the inlays straight or on angles cleanly (without a saw). (see link below)

Full disclosure it’s my company. I thought some people might find the cutter helpful and easy to use (it requires no skill). Forgive the commercial post
