Making a Great Blog: a Guide for Creative People

Oh, this has been a week! But I’m happy at last to be telling you: I’ve just published an ebook about craft blogging!

I’ve been working on this project for a long time. After three years of blogging, reading hundreds of other blogs, and teaching blogging classes, I wanted to address the subjects that I think rarely get discussed – specifically, the ins and outs of making great craft blog content.

There’s a whole lot of details about the book (and a link to buy a copy) over here, and you can also read this incredibly nice review by Rach, who is rad, on CRAFT.

Whew! I hope you find it useful.

Hi Diane, wow - I purchased your ebook early this morning and have read it twice. Right now I am re-doing my web site, blog and store so your ideas of blog goal setting and accomplishing what we want in a blog really came at a perfect time.

Thank you for writing this ebook. It is a great addition to every craft blogger's library. Looking forward to the next book.

You know I'm totally digging the button cover image! This is such a great idea, Diane. If anyone knows how to write an engaging, inspirational blog, it's you. :) We're all lucky that you'll share your genius with us.

fantastic, of course! do you think you'll create a print version someday? it would be a great thing to sell when you teach!
  • That is great, Diane! Since I've taken your classes, I know you are an expert on this subject and a great teacher.
  • Congratulations, Diane! I am forwarding the link to your post to all my crafty friends!
  • Congratulations Diane!! What great news! Do you need a publicist? ;)
  • I'm glad your mom has already commented, because I wouldn't want her to be irritated with me when I say: can I have your baby? This kind of DNA must continue!
  • Wow! Could you rock any harder?

Answer: I don't think so (but then, you *do* have a knack for out-rocking yourself... but this is pretty flippin' rockin! Nice work!)
  • Great job! I just bought my copy, and can't wait to sit down and read it.
  • This coming from someone who HATES reading anything longer than a blog post on line: this e-book is visually beautiful and easy on the eyes, the writing style is clear and concise, and it is a much needed tool for bloggers. As i said, I really dislike "learning" on line (except craft tutorials of course!) but I have read this from beginning to end four times and have found useful information every time.

Great job, Diane. Can't wait for the next installment!
  • WOW! I'm gonna get it right now! I think the idea of giving tips for succesful blogging is great (and needed) but I must admit the thing that catch my eye was this wonderful cover, such a beautiful bunch of buttons!!!
  • This is great! You are perfect to write this! And I need to read it! High fives! :-)
