Giveaway! My Blogging Ebook!

by Sister-Diane on April 28, 2009

in Uncategorized

Okay, then – one more post about the ebook, but this time it’s a giveaway!

Three copies of this bad boy are up for grabs. To put your name in the hat, just leave a comment on this post, and tell me what parts of blogging feel the most challenging for you.

International readers, you’re most welcome to enter. Heck, people on other planets are welcome to enter.

I’ll draw three winners at random on Thursday, April 30 at noon PST. Good Luck!

  • oooh oooh ooh It's still not noon there yet I made it! yeah! Always looking to improve my blog!
  • sam
i just struggle with worrying that i sound like a first grader when i am trying to write in a casual, conversational manner.
  • vicki
My biggest challenge is time. There are so many things I want to do--like write a series of related how-to posts, make some project tutorials, and share my own projects, but I also want to maybe make stuff to sell on etsy, and maybe patterns too. And I'm thinking about submitting some projects to craft magazines. Then there's taking care of my family and house so, yeah. Finding time is my challenge.
  • Formatting and organization are the hardest parts for me. I'm also trying to decide if I should combine my blog and website into one blogsite. And how to display my portfolio. Love your stuff, btw!
  • Holy Smokes! I had to scroll a LONG way down to put my name on this list!! Good luck picking them out of the hat!

The most dificult part of blogging for me is the WAVES that it comes in! Sometimes I am full of posts and other times i have nothing!
  • So far, figuring out EVERYTHING. I don't even know how to put those cool hyperlink buttons on my page, yet!
  • Rebecca
I tend to babble about everything that's happened since whenever the last time I posted was, instead of having organized updates as to progress on different projects. My posts are overly long and inconsistent in frequency.
  • meg
I'm coming up on 2 years and I think I'm getting a little blog fatigue. I need to inject some life into my poor blog, but don't really know how.
  • I put up a post weekly when I am at home whether I have anything to say or not. That keeps the temptation to drift away at bay. Still, some weeks it seems like I just say the same things over and over. That's not totally avoidable, because I really blog to keep in contact with out of town friends and family and I don't lead a rivetting life, but it does get a little boring sometimes, even for me. Also I get into the sibling rivalry thing - if I pit a picture of my granddaughter up I get several via email of my grandson by the end of the same day. First world problems, I'd say.
  • The hardest part for me? Finding the TIME to blog! I have the ideas and the words... just not the time (or motivation) by the time I get home from my full-time job.
  • Kim
I find keeping up with all the ideas I have and coming up with new and interesting topics to explore the hardest parts...you can only show so many cat photos in one blog ;)
  • It's difficult for me to keep posts targeted around a cohesive topic because my interests change so rapidly. I had to ditch the tagline that describes what the blog is about.
  • I would say the hardest part about blogging for me is the writing. I post everyday and find it difficult knowing when to stop. I put everything I've got into almost every post, seven days a week and it can get exhausting! When my daughter complains of having to write a 500 - 1000 word essay, I just tell her... try writing one every day!
  • Camolai
Oh yay! Well, I'm a recently engaged 20-year-old currently in the midst of starting up my own blog and business on Etsy.com. I've just left my school (yikes!!) where I was pursuing a degree in Graphic Design in order to go after what I really want to do with my life, so all of this is pretty intimidating in its own way.

Concerning actual writing, I'm not that worried about it (I wrote a column amongst other articles for all four years of high school and some for my college newspaper) but I've never done an actual blog. I'm pretty organized, so I take lots of pictures, bookmark, and even make sure to write my initial thoughts about whatever I'm observing, but I don't know if I have the discipline to keep up-to-date on a blog. I need help figuring out a way to set myself up for success concerning scheduling and time.

Also, I think I have plenty to blog about, but I'm not sure what all is appropriate for a blog. How specific and personal should I get? Writing for newspapers, I always had a target goal, but with blogs I'm just not sure what to go after! Also, also, I'm not sure what the rules of etiquette are for blogging, and I really don't want to commit any virtual faux-pas! :)

In any case, I really enjoy reading your blog and I figure if I can get advice straight from a woman who runs her own successful crafty blog, I'd eventually be sitting pretty well myself! Anyway, thank you for everything you do.

    Camolai

*Oh dear! Another question for you; how long is too long for blog posts?? (I think I might need help on that!)
  • I think the hardest part for me is finding the balance between my crafty life and my dance life. I feel guilty when my dancing life gets too busy for me to have my crafty life and write about it!
  • Kim
The hardest part is consistency and what to write. When I'm not near a computer I can think of stuff, just not when I'm ready to write.
  • Posting regularly is a problem but I do love blogger's feature that allows you to write a bunch of posts and have them post later. I'm never really sure if what I have to say is of any interest to other's out there. I also forget to take photos throughout the process of making something new.
  • Blogging, sigh!!!!!!! I have no time to blog, I love it!! I just have to make time to blog, that is my biggest problem. I love the networking, the ideas and the people. How do you get people to follow your blog?? I am a bit techy challenged and I don't understand feeds, tweets and linking..........I think I need some webby help!
I just discovered the Crafty pod and I listen at work! LOVE IT!! Thank you for all your help!
    Keep it Gourdy! Wendy
  • Blogging on a regular schedule and not being too personal.
  • Julie
I find it hard to blog about things that my followers will find interesting. I always think, just because I find it interesting doesn't mean the my readers do as well. I hope they do!
Also, it's sometimes hard to find the time to blog, I'd like to blog every day and read blogs every day.. all day! But I just don't have the time.
  • Julie
Consistency! I just don't have the discipline to post regularly...
  • The hardest part for me is to get people that visit to comment. I get about 150-200 visits per day, but usually the same 3 peeps comment. How do I draw the others in?
  • The challenges of blogging - consistent submission of content and trying not to bore the hell out of people who stumble across my blog.
  • The hardest thing about blogging for me is finding what to write about everyday - some weeks I have lots of inspiration and easily have something to write about everyday but other weeks I struggle. This is just on my personal blog by the way - on Cuteable I always find plenty to write about!
  • i love books created by bloggers! this one is a must have. hope my number comes up! come on over to my house and play. two cat contests posted 4/23 and 4/28. big hug, deborah
  • This would be such a help to me - I've had a regularly-updated blog for nearly a year but hardly any readers! So the hardest parts are definitely getting people to my blog, AND finding original content :-)
    Hope I win!
  • It sounds silly but the thing I find most difficult is finding the time which is silly because I certainly managed to find some when I want to read blogs/enter giveaways!
  • For me it's actually making time to post something and wondering if anyone will ever read them. At the moment I'm treating my blog as a kind of on-line craft diary, but it feels a bit lacking in direction.
  • I have a hard time staying inspired and thinking of new topics to blog about.
  • Thanks for the giveaway!

Finding the right words and then being satisfied with what I have written is what I find the most challenging. I also want to build my audience and have no idea on how to do it. I hope to win this ebook because I have a lot to learn!
  • what a fabulous idea for a book... would love to get my hands on a copy!

my challenges vary... and mostly revolve around time constraints
  • I find it difficult to write stuff that will interest people but also show off my crafting projects
  • My first focus is to have good content, but sometimes I forget to go out of my way to network. I just try to do a good job & hope people stumble upon my site.
  • Thanks so much for the chance to win your e-book! Let's see...the most challenging parts of blogging for me are: writing engaging posts, balancing kids/blog/hubby/making, and making connections with other bloggers. Yup, I'm sure your e-book could tell me a thing or two. Hope I win!
  • Balancing the desire to keep the blog current with the desire to keep time spent on the blog in balance with its benefit to me--not to feel pressure to write unless there's something I want to say.
  • Jessica
I find it hard to keep up. When I fall behind I feel like I can't write new until I cover all the time that has passed. That makes me put it off even longer and then I feel like I can't start again and maybe I should even quit!

I don't know how to use google analytics even though I signed up for it. I can't figure out how to tell who and how many people have visited my site. I find many things challenging.

Wa-wa-wa... Listen to me cry! I think I need to get a little more positive. You are such an inspiration Sister Diane. Thanks for all you do.
  • I don't like to write. I don't like revealing my thoughts in words. I don't even know why I have a blog. It's a definite "should". But I like reading yours! And I can't believe how many comments you've gotten. You're a master! I want your book.
  • Lucie
So curious, would LOVE to read the book!!!
  • The most challenging thing for me is CONSISTENCY! I make and do SO much more than I ever post about on my blog... it's silly!
  • I have trouble with the 'voice of my blog' Is it strictly about my jewelry or about me & what goes on in my life, can it be both? Just still trying to figure out what's the best way to do the whole blogging thing: how often is enough? how often is too little? where is my audience & how do I keep them hooked?
  • kelli
Currently, it's getting started. I've got to get myself on a schedule so I can make sure to have "scheduled" time to post.
  • Glenda
consistency and formatting to make it enjoyable. I am very creative in real life ... can I impart that to a blog successful enough to bless at least my extended family?
  • esther
I find the discipline of posting regularly a challenge.
  • I find the pictures and words combination to be difficult. I always try to use a picture, but I don't always have a good one. Then I have to go to flickr and find one that isn't protected, blah blah blah. I need a standing order of posts as well, like Monday is always grateful day, Friday is a store special, etc.
  • Consistency is my biggest problem - sticking to a blogging schedule, sticking to related themes, doing "housekeeping" tasks on a regular basis.

But I still love it, and don't think I'll ever stop.
  • Jane
I tried once & let it go. The most difficult part was writing in a genuine, conversational and interesting way. Hope I win your book. I'd like to give it another shot.
  • My most challenging thing for me is the English language - I'm Norwegian ;)
  • I find it hard to make sure I have relevant and good photos to go with the blog post. I find I have lots to write about and could write a post each day or more but it takes so much extra time for me to get a photo, edit it and then wait for it to upload.
  • robyn here. what feels most challenging to me about blogging? definitely feeling like i'm not as good at it because less people read my blog. i consistently think that i have to have thousands and millions of readers to be a blogger, and letting go of that is super hard!!!
  • Lora
Well, I've been wanting to start a blog for a while and this book would be perfect for me! I'm kind of technically challenged, so I'm worried I won't be able to maintain a blog. Thanks for writing this book! I hope to read it to jump start my new blogging career!
  • I think the writing is the most difficult for me. A balance of personal and technical is hard to strike. I tend to veer off on tangents and extended parenthetical statements, which are irrelevant to the general audience.
  • The most difficult thing about blogging for me is 1) finding the time to update and 2) figuring out what I want to do with my blog overall. I previously had two blogs - one for personal postings and one for craft-related stuff. Those have been integrated into one and it is so much easier to keep up with.
  • For me it's finding something to blog about and the time to do it. I have the best intentions, I even tried to make a blog schedule, but well, that failed. :P

I read them all the time, yours daily.
  • I love blogging, and love reading blogs, but trying to be a contributing member of the blogging community is what feels most challenging to me. It's making those connections, when my tendency is to lurk instead. When I read all the rich content others are offering up for me to devour, I want to give something too - something that will be of value. And I'd like to write for more than just my mom and sister, ha.
  • I am trying to focus on one topic each day because I tend to want to blog about too many things. Being a Renaissance woman, I am interested in all kinds of crafts (knitting, crocheting, quilting, etc.) and I love to read, so I want to recommend books, and I home educate my youngsters, so there's that, too! I need direction - perhaps I should be doing separate blogs for each topic. I know these days everything seems to have to be categorized in a niche - do you feel it's that important to get a good following? Ultimately, I want to be able to sell my crafty goodness so my blog needs to be a marketing tool, too. Whew! Perhaps your book is just what I need! :-D
  • The hardest part for me is regularity. I get a great idea once in a while, but like all of us, I'm super super busy. Not being a crafty businesswoman, it's just sharing for me, but I have a lot of wonderful people who read me, and I just don't post enough! Pictures are also an issue - taking regular, interesting, slightly different pictures.
  • Samsara
Hey, that's easy! Finding the time to blog is absolutely the most difficult thing for me at the moment as I'm working full time and doing a part-time course too! I sometimes have a crisis of confidence though and wonder why people read my blog as it doesn't seem that anyone could be interested in me and how I fill my time :-) I wonder whether my blogging style is consistent because I feel different on different days, sometimes factual and maybe a little stressed, sometimes whimsical....
  • For me the most challenging part of blogging is staying true to myself and my purpose for blogging. There is something about having an audience (especially one that is silent a lot of the time) that knots me up. I *try* not to concern myself too much with audience (I don't poll readers to find out what kind of content they want to read, I don't run contests just to pull in readers), but it's hard to deny that audience and their participation plays an important role in blogging - I mean, otherwise, I could just write in a notebook, right?

The only thing I know for sure about blogging, for me anyway, is that it's a continuously evolving format.
  • The biggest problem for me about blogging is personalizing my page. I would like to know how to create backgrounds without having to buy Photobucket (I think this is the name). I'd would also like to know how to do drop down menus from the top of the blog, rather than have a lengthy sidebar.
  • I have a hard time with designing the look of the blog and writing in a way that is not too personal or scattered, but interesting to my readers.
  • Hmm... my challenges are:

    - like Astaryth said, just making the post! A lot of times I think, this post is boring with out pictures! I'll wait till I have a pic. Then it just doesn't seem timely anymore.

    - Coming up with a cohesive whole - I'm so all over the place and interested in so many things. I don't know if that would break up an audience too much to go into so many different things, or be an advantage.

    - Coming up with something I feel is original/valuable. I think "oh wouldn't that be interesting... let it germinate... and then tomorrow I see 3 other blog entries with the same topic!
  • Consistent blogging is difficult for me. I think the way to build your blog is by being consistent, so readers always have something new to read when they visit.

I would love to win your book.
  • For me, there are two parts of blogging that I find the most challenging. The tone of the writing and the quality of the pictures. I find that I'm most attracted to blogs that are polished, offer beautiful, artistic pictures, and have either a chatty tone (light and slightly self-deprecating) or a professional one (poetic and knowledgeable)...and I want to emulate those, but don't think I achieve it very often.
  • I think the hardest part for me is focus and consistency. I have two blogs and I blog in spurts. I also have a hard time with trying to figure out what would be a good topic I think my readers would like to read. I think I have a couple readers out there :) I self edit *alot*. Many a post are still sitting in the draft stage and I can't bring myself to hit the publish button.
  • Saw that my response didn't post for some reason, so I'll try again!

My biggest challenge (especially as a new blogger) is balancing between blogging and then taking the time to actually create, which is the whole point! Sometimes it's tough to tear yourself away from the computer and just get going. When you have a new blog, that in itself is like taking on a new craft -- learning what works and what doesn't, seeing what brings in traffic -- it can get just as addicting as your craft of choice!
  • It used to be challenging to not write too much. But now after blogging for almost 8 years I keep fighting the fear that "I've already said that" even though I don't seem to have the same concern when I'm talking to people in person.

Great question and it's great to read other's responses.
  • I think the hardest part for me is finding the time to blog (or when I find myself with some free time, remembering everything I wanted to write about). I also struggle with the idea that talking too much about my day-to-day life (while talking about books, crafts, and sewing) might not be interesting to anyone.
  • The hardest part for me is getting readers besides my family and friends!
  • Ooo, would love a copy of this book!

My biggest issue is finding the energy to blog. I have two blogs and since starting the second my first has pretty much languished. I always think I'm going to keep my daily post short, sweet and snappy but I wind up blathering on for far too long and pour so much energy into it that I feel drained after. So... energy and editing, I guess those two go hand in hand for me.
  • Time management (as with all other aspects of my life!). I want to post frequently enough that people will stay interested, but not so frequently that my family forgets who I am...
  • My biggest challenge right now is content. When I design for others to publish I often cannot share what I am working on for that and there isn't time to be working on others things that I could share. I'm not sure if I just need to post even if it is tangential (posts about photography and cooking and reading when it should really be a knitting/spinning and related arts blog).
  • This would be faster than stealing milk money from the budget to buy one. Here's hoping I win!
  • Oh! Great give away!
The most challenging: posting on a regular basis, being more talkative without being egocentric...
  • The hardest part about blogging for me is what to write about. I worry if my readers will be interested? Or even care. It's silly I know.
  • Jennifer
How about just getting started? I been thinking about it for I while I just need to do it.
  • Hi, thanks for the opportunity to win your book, it looks really great. I'd say the hardest part of blogging for me is trying to ignore my "inner critic".
  • Oh I would love to win a copy of your blogging book... the biggest blog challenge to me is continuing to offer good content. sometimes I feel less inspired than others...
  • To me the most challenging part of blogging (next to work-life-blog-balance) is not second-guessing and over-editing everything that comes to my mind; I often have an idea that I want to share, then write it but start questioning whether anyone will want to read it, start editing and deleting and often ended up only writing about other great blogs I found online. The quality of blogs like yours kind of intimidates me (and I really mean that as a compliment)!
Thank you for this giveaway! I haven't seen any books about blogging, let about creative blogging and I think it's great of you to share your experience.
  • I'm constantly falling out with my blog, so I guess the hardest part for me is actually facing it - should I force myself to write a post and keep up the regular content or just shy away from it? Be courageous and spontaneous and write exactly what's on my mind or worry whether or not any of it will be well received? Have I crossed the line, where is the line?
  • Jayme L.
I need to read your book so I can be inspired to be more consistant with showing my crafting projects. Sometimes I just use my blog like a journal, and that's not very interesting to anyone but me. I need to focus and show more of my vintage and thrifted treasures, crafting and have a giveaway or something fun. Thanks for the chance to win your fabulous book!
  • amanda
I would love to win this! I find it hard to write in a way that grabs and keeps attention. I'm not a bad writer, but I think I am a boring one! Thanks for the chance to win.
  • The two most challenging things for me are keeping the blog going on a regular basis (which is necessary, if you want to build an audience, I think) and making sure people interested in the things I write about actually find the blog (via Google, Facebook, Twitter,...)
  • ren
posting regularly is always a problem. i have lots to write about but i edit too much, or i worry about offending my audience or revealing too much. my blog is personal, but not, so...it's a toss up if i am going too far or not far enough.
  • I find keeping my posts concise a challenge, I always talk and write too much!
  • I'm so excited to read your book!

The most challenging part of blogging for me has been making the time to actually post, and getting great photos. I eek out enough time to make crafty projects, but having the additional time to take great photos, edit them, and post them is really the challenge. The next most challenging aspect of blogging for me has been the fact that I would LOVE to write a lot more hilarious observations, which can not be published, because they would offend certain relatives.
  • OOOOOOH. Put my name in the hat, please!!!
  • Sara
My biggest hurdle is to not worry about being perfect. I worry about it so much, I don't get anything posted. Then there is the timeliness factor. Trying to get enough time to edit photos, write content, and post before the information gets stale is a problem for me.

I tried a new approach this weekend, posting photos and brief text to Twitter this weekend, which worked reasonably well. Now maybe I can tackle my blog (using the wisdom of your book!)
  • The hardest part is coming up with content that's both exciting for me to write about and would be of interest to a reader. My job at C&T Publishing would be of interest to people but I can't talk about any of the really interesting things going on there. I'm just getting started blogging as well and I am going to persevere! I know I have to be interesting...
  • I've been blogging for almost seven years and I still have trouble finding interesting things to talk about.
  • Finding the time to actually do it everyday!
  • Probably the hardest part about blogging is getting the photos just right. Most of the time I just say, screw it and go ahead and post anyway. But then I see other blogs where the photos look so professional.
  • What a great idea for an ebook!
What I find challenging about blogging is that
    1. I spend too much time blogging!
    2. I have so much to say, but so much of it is disjointed.
  • It is a challenge for me to find something worthwhile to post. And finding a focus. I get tired just thinking about posting when it seems that everyone else has said or done a project first or better. With so many blogs out there it's hard to find anything new under the sun, and I don't want to just add to the redundancy. I don't want people to think they are wasting their time at my blog.
  • The hardest part of blogging is staying on task - I have lots of crafty stuff to blog about, but pictures of my son are an easy cop-out when I don't have tons of time for a post. I also sometimes struggle with good photos.
  • I have only been blogging for one month, so maybe it gets easier, but I only have two followers and five readers that I know of.... and they are all related to me. how do I build an audience?
  • The hardest part of my business blog is knowing how much personal blog posts to include. I want to focus on promoting my business. But my business is such an integral part of my life, I'm not sure where or how to draw the line.
  • My greatest issue is getting blog posts done in advance, so I can update with more frequency. Also, I used to have a personal blog, then transitioned into an art/crafting blog--I often wonder how personal to get there. I hate having separate accounts for things, but also feel that those that view and comment on my art/craft blog probably don't care about my brother's report card or my grief counseling after my mother's death. Figuring out that balance is very hard for me.
  • photos and time.

cuz I've got a bad camera and a good husband. ;~)

  • I love the accountability that the craft blog provides - I'm hoping it will lead to more projects actually being completed instead of perpatual WIPs. I getting
The most challenging.....keeping up the enthusiam even when it seems like no one is reading (although I know at least a few people are), and commiting to a regular posting schedule.
  • Hoping the random thingy picks me...
  • I often feel like I live on another planet since I'm so far away from the people I want to hang out with... So while blogging is great for connecting over distances, it can also leave you isolated...

    xoxo
  • I think the most challenging part of blogging for me is that I've been blogging for so long that many days I just have nothing to talk about.

I start to wonder if anyone really want to see any more bird photos, flower macros, vacation photos and/or knitting projects. Maybe the death of some blogs is the natural order of things, especially if you don't find yourself all that interesting! (that's the boat I'm in!)

Found your site via Kim Werker's tweet and have to say that your button header made me blink! It was like you'd gone down to my studio and spilled open my button stash. (and I've got you saved to Google reader now for further exploration!)

I'm just beginning. I have been reading blogs (yours expecially) for over 2 years and kept thinking I was too busy. It finally dawned on me, everyone else is just as busy, so I had to take the plunge. Right now all of it is pretty daunting.

  • I think for me the hardest thing is to come up with content that's not top-secret-designs. If all I'm working on for a month is a design that I'm not allowed to share until it's published, then I usually can't find much to write about.
  • Hardest part of blogging for me is organizing the posts so that they make sense. That things are in order, and not disjointed. My writing style jumps all over the place, so I can start talking about art supplies but end up talking about puppies :p I still need to work on having my posts about one basic topic but it is so hard not to get sidetracked and talk about something else :)

I've been thinking about starting a blog for the longest time. I like to write and take pictures and I have a wide variety of interests. The hardest part for me? Getting started. I'm worried that if I start, I'll lose momentum and become just another dead blog by the wayside or that I won't have anything to say after the first week or so. That's what's really keeping me blocked.
  • I struggle with finding time - quality time - to make improvements and stay up to date on technology.
  • Chppie
Just keeping focused and keeping to a schedule really challenges me. I don't want to be a random blather blog but some focii just leave me running dry.

also picking the best product. Regularly it seems that bloggers are revamping their site because of limitations of their vendor or application. I worry about too much tedious maintenance.
  • I find it hard to pin down the voice of my blogging. I blog about what I am working on, or what's inspiring me, but my "voice" changes depending on my mood, and my mood swings pretty drastically. I also find it hard to keep my personal worries out of my blog. I need to find an outlet for those that isn't my online persona.
  • I know I need to be more consistent with my blog, but I need more hours in the day before that can happen. :)
  • Content is key...

    Your content ROCKS!

Hope I will win a copy of your e-book, and if not, I will not hesitate to purchase.

Thank you, Lady, much love to ya...
  • I have a hard time closing the post without sounding like I am stopping short. I try to tie the end back to earlier parts of the post. Some times it is meandering, sometimes it is forced. Sometimes I am able to loop it back. I love those posts the best.
  • My most challenging thing is trying to make an interesting banner. Mine is so boring and would like to change it.
  • I love the writing, but am really frustrated with finding direction. With few readers, I get little feedback, so I'm not sure how to proceed.
  • My blog is brand new, but so far the hardest part for me is deciding "would my readers (ha!) be interested in this?" and choosing topics. I suppose a lot of this will just come with time?
  • I'm really not sure how to handle getting my name out there and growing my audience. I'd like to know how better to manage what content I have and improve said content with the goal of making a more readable and enjoyable blog. I also have problems with stretches where I lose my inspiration- what can I do with the blog when I'm not crafting to keep it active, that sort of thing.
  • Love the book idea and have been looking forward to it!
  • The book seems quite interesting. I loved the cover photo, by the way.
  • sounds like a great book!
i have a hard time thinking of interesting things to say and visually stimulating ways to put it on the screen, including pictures. thus i don't update as much as i should!
  • Megan
I haven't actually started yet, but I have two concerns: one is whether I have enough interesting things to put out there to keep visitors visiting; the other is how to say enough to be interesting without putting too much personal info out there online.
  • Jason Millward
I feel that a successful blog is one that is frequently updated. I struggle with being worried that I won't have enough fresh content to produce a blog that will keep people coming back.
  • Lolly
Ooh, this looks so nice. I've been wanting to have a blog for my craftiness, but I'm intimidated by the commitment it will require. Also, how to focus my post ideas so that they are interesting and concise without meandering into rambling tangents.
  • Oh shoot, I just purchased it. I should have tried to win one first. ;)

It looks great, haven't had time to read it yet. LOTS of information.

    Thanks CraftyPod
  • Pretty much the whole blogging thing is a challenge as it was not technology that I grew up with - something I have had to learn on my own piecemeal as an adult.

I just started my crafting blog this year as part of my New Year's resolution to be more crafty and by posting them on a blog. It does challenge me to try to keep up with it on a regular basis but I would like to make it more interesting and easy for others to read.

I love seeing everyone elses blogs and get most of my inspiration from other bloggers
  • Meg
Thats an easy one for me- I've only been blogging since the beginning of the year, and I love it, but pretty much everything is still challenging in some way.

Remembering to take pictures as I go-
Figuring out what the heck to write about-
How to juggle the time it takes to post with everything else-
And mostly how to build it up into something more than 5 or so people (who may or may not be related to me) read.
  • Lindsay
The hardest part of blogging for me is pictures. Between remembering to document the 'process', taking note of other visual elements people might like to look at, and then choosing the best photos, I tend to either get lazy or just flat out forget. (Oops)

I love photographing things and am normally pleased with the results, but the extra step gets in my way... yet it's so crucial to making a blog attractive and readable!
  • Well, having just gotten mine and looked through it I can attest to the fact this thing is really good. Just by the headings, and Diane's excellent writing skills, I know it's thorough and pertinent to what I need to know as a blogger. So, whoever gets a one is CASHING IN, BABY!!

I'm off now, to pretend to work while I read every word of my new ebook.

    yay!
  • Making the actual post. I have an idea/see something interesting... think it would make a good post. By the time I get to the writing of it part, I usually don't think anyone would be interested, so I end up not posting. LOL!
