Hello there! I'm Sister Diane and I have two grand passions: making crafts and making media. That's what I write about here, and sometimes, I get all thoughtful about internet culture and creative small businesses. Thanks for stopping by! Would you like some tea?

Okay, then – one more post about the ebook, but this time it’s a giveaway!

Three copies of this bad boy are up for grabs. To put your name in the hat, just leave a comment on this post, and tell me what parts of blogging feel the most challenging for you.

International readers, you’re most welcome to enter. Heck, people on other planets are welcome to enter.

I’ll draw three winners at random on Thursday, April 30 at noon PST. Good Luck!

  • For me it’s finding something to blog about and the time to do it. I have the best intentions, I even tried to make a blog schedule, but well, that failed. :P

I read them all the time, yours daily.

  • The most difficult thing about blogging for me is 1) finding the time to update and 2) figuring out what I want to do with my blog overall. I previously had two blogs – one for personal postings and one for craft-related stuff. Those have been integrated into one and it is so much easier to keep up with.

  • I think the writing is the most difficult for me. A balance of personal and technical is hard to strike. I tend to veer off on tangents and extended parenthetical statements, which are irrelevant to the general audience.

Well, I’ve been wanting to start a blog for a while and this book would be perfect for me! I’m kind of technically challenged, so I’m worried I won’t be able to maintain a blog. Thanks for writing this book! I hope to read it to jump start my new blogging career!

  • robyn here. what feels most challenging to me about blogging? definitely feeling like i’m not as good at it because less people read my blog. i consistently think that i have to have thousands and millions of readers to be a blogger, and letting go of that is super hard!!!

  • I find it hard to make sure I have relevant and good photos to go with the blog post. I find I have lots to write about and could write a post each day or more but it takes so much extra time for me to get a photo, edit it and then wait for it to upload.

I tried once & let it go. The most difficult part was writing in a genuine, conversational and interesting way. Hope I win your book. I’d like to give it another shot.

  • Consistency is my biggest problem – sticking to a blogging schedule, sticking to related themes, doing “housekeeping” tasks on a regular basis.

But I still love it, and don’t think I’ll ever stop.

  • I find the pictures and words combination to be difficult. I always try to use a picture, but I don’t always have a good one. Then I have to go to flickr and find one that isn’t protected, blah blah blah. I need a standing order of posts as well, like Monday is always grateful day, Friday is a store special, etc.

I find the discipline of posting regularly a challenge.

consistency and formatting to make it enjoyable. I am very creative in real life … can I impart that to a blog successful enough to bless at least my extended family?

Currently, it’s getting started. I’ve got to get myself on a schedule so I can make sure to have “scheduled” time to post.

  • I have trouble with the ‘voice of my blog’ Is it strictly about my jewelry or about me & what goes on in my life, can it be both? Just still trying to figure out what’s the best way to do the whole blogging thing: how often is enough? how often is too little? where is my audience & how do I keep them hooked?

  • The most challenging thing for me is CONSISTENCY! I make and do SO much more than I ever post about on my blog… it’s silly!

  • I don’t like to write. I don’t like revealing my thoughts in words. I don’t even know why I have a blog. It’s a definite “should”. But I like reading yours! And I can’t believe how many comments you’ve gotten. You’re a master! I want your book.

I find it hard to keep up. When I fall behind I feel like I can’t write new until I cover all the time that has passed. That makes me put it off even longer and then I feel like I can’t start again and maybe I should even quit!

I don’t know how to use google analytics even though I signed up for it. I can’t figure out how to tell who and how many people have visited my site. I find many things challenging.

Wa-wa-wa… Listen to me cry! I think I need to get a little more positive. You are such an inspiration Sister Diane. Thanks for all you do.

  • Balancing the desire to keep the blog current with the desire to keep time spent on the blog in balance with its benefit to me–not to feel pressure to write unless there’s something I want to say.

  • Thanks so much for the chance to win your e-book! Let’s see…the most challenging parts of blogging for me are: writing engaging posts, balancing kids/blog/hubby/making, and making connections with other bloggers. Yup, I’m sure your e-book could tell me a thing or two. Hope I win!

  • My first focus is to have good content, but sometimes I forget to go out of my way to network. I just try to do a good job & hope people stumble upon my site.

Finding the right words and then being satisfied with what I have written is what I find the most challenging. I also want to build my audience and have no idea on how to do it. I hope to win this ebook because I have a lot to learn!
