I started sewing right before my son was born. I only made simple baby blankets. I’d like to learn how to make clothes for myself. This book sounds great!

The great satisfaction is that I can make whatever I want – if I want a zipper more left I just do it and that is why I can be always satisfied with things I wear :)

I am beginning my journey of learning to sew, and I want to learn to sew clothes so that I can choose my fabrics, colours and styles without being limited by what is in fashion–and also so I can save money! I would love to win this book!

I’ve been sewing for about forty-five years. I think it’s mainly a girlie thing – innate desire to make and create. A few years ago that would have been such a politically incorrect thing to say. Thank goodness things are changing back to normalcy in this area.

I used to sew with my mom, but alone I find it frustrating and intimidating. I still aspire to make awesome things. This book looks like it has great explanations and the path to awesome things.

I second that emotion Lavina; I can make stitches and come out with something in the end, but trying following a pattern and finding ones that I actually want to make feels like I’m in over my head! This book looks very aptly titled: Chic and Simple! What I’d really like to get out of sewing in general is to get to the point where I’m able to make clothes for my family as a routine practice.

I like sewing because it lets you make something really unique and something that makes me feel good about myself. :)

I’ve always wanted to sew, because I enjoy creating order from chaos. There’s nothing like staring at a pile of raw material (especially scraps / leftovers) and thinking of ways to turn it into something fun and functional. I’ve been a knitter for several years, but have only recently bought a sewing machine and completed a couple ultra-simple projects. I really need help learning advanced, creative sewing!

I have wanted to learn to sew for what seems like forever. I’m a knitter and receive such enjoyment from being able to create useful and beautiful items my entire family can use. Items that i can give as gifts and people will love. I love going into the stores, seeing something I love and sayidn “I can make that”.
All of these loves translate so well to sewing. I get the same excitment looking at sewing patterns that I do at knitting patterns….i just have to learn how to actually do it!

I want to learn to sew because for years I’ve been holding onto clothes with some sort of sentimental value that fit terribly because I’ve decided that *someday* I’m going to learn how to sew with them. Also, I often have pictures of what I want out of e.g. a dress in my head, but I can’t find it in good quality, my size, and my price range all at once. I know fabric’s not cheap, and as a knitting college student who’s been hoarding craft supplies since the age of like 8 I probably shouldn’t build a fabric stash, but hey, isn’t that what thrifting’s for?

Reasons:
The First reason I sew is for having clothes no one else has. I hate buying something, and then seeing it on ten other people.
Also I’m a petite, so many store bought clothes doesn’t fit (Second Reason. This way I get a perfect fit.
And the third reason is the sense to be able to CREATE from my own hands. I really love to see the finished product and say I MADE IT!!

I want to learn to sew so bad! I attempt to recall my memory of 7th grade Home Ec, but to no avail!
I want to make fun summer dresses and skirts I can wear to work and shirts that fit!

I was really scared of sewing because I thought sewing machines were complicated and hand sewing just took too long (and i kept hurting myself). But after seeing my boyfriend’s mum doing some patching I thought “I could do that”. So I started learning to sew by machine…with some luck and a LOT of frustration. I have managed to patch jeans, and tops, take in clothes that were just a big too big and even make some curtains. I’m still learning, and it still scares me a bit (especially patterns) but I am determined to keep at it. I feel like Wonder Woman at the end of each succesful project ! :)

I love to sew. It makes me happy to take fabric and make something useful, or beautiful, and hopefully, it’s both.

I have been slowly teaching myself to sew for a number of reasons. I’ve always wanted to. I love the idea of creating things. I’m hoping to develop a home-business. I also love the idea of customizing clothing for myself or for other people, of making things unique, and of really appreciating my belongings because *I* made them and I know where they came from and how they were built.

I’ve started sewing very simple things and I love it! I’ve started crafting in a lot of different ways but I love sewing because of the quick results. I’d love this book to try and “up the ante” with my sewing.

i took a sewing class once and thought i did a great job, but i haven’t sewn too much since- i have always been interested in picking it up again and this book would be great because i would need to start up with something simple.
