How to Make Loopy Felt Flowers

Another thing for your Friday: I did a guest tutorial over at Craft Leftovers today. It’s a fun, simple project – these loopy felt flowers! Go take a look!

(Although, Pushkin asked me to add this public service message: “Please don’t use these flowers as cat hats. That’s just wrong.”)

But half the fun of having a cat is attacks on his dignity! They make the huffiest faces.

Do you realize how great these would be as an Advent Calendar????? Use a button that would allow you to paint or glue a number on the surface, add a bit of velcro to the back and then all you need is a felt or fabric tree! These would be just beautiful! Or as tree ornaments!

I can't BELIEVE you put my grandchild on the web in that hat! Extra patsd for him next time I am at you house.
  • The cat is so funny...ah ah ah ..and thanks for the tutorial on craft leftovers ! Bye
  • What a shame about the no cat hats, I think my Henry would have some serious fun figuring out what it was I'd put on his little head!

I just found your awesome blog this week, and have been listening to a bunch of your podcasts, they're great, I especially liked the indie craft/ craft supplier-trade one and the one with Jennifer Perkins! Your voice has become quite familiar to me quite quickly! Thank you!
  • Ha! I think it's irresistible -- little flowers make the very best cat hats! I did the same thing to Kaesea last year with some fabric flowers I made:

  • there really is nothing more long-suffering than a cat in a hat. cute hat tho.

Thanks, Pushkin, good to know! (and my kitty-boy thanks you, too!)

    Very cute, fun, summery flowers!
  • those are really pretty :D

all the cat flower needs now is a ribbon to tie under his chin ;)
  • Haha, I love the photo of Pushkin! And I think pink totally is his color :)
  • Adorable! Even as a cat hat, but I understand Pushkin's distaste.
