After thinking about it for way too long, I’ve finally installed a new comment-management system on this here blog. It’s called DISQUS, and it’s dandy.

You won’t notice a whole lot of difference, except that it’s now easier for you to reply to other people’s comments here, which is cool for fostering discussion. (See the lower left corner of the comment above?)

And, when you comment on a post now, you can also now subscribe to get email notifications when follow-up comments appear. (See the lower right corner?) This is nice for posts like this and this, where you all have made so many thoughtful contributions.

This is also the moment for me to make a little change in how I respond to your comments. Up until now, I’ve been trying to answer as many of them as I can via email. And I’ve been failing to a greater or lesser degree for the last six months.
So, from this point, I’ll respond to your comments here on the blog. I’ll respond as much as I can, but realistically, probably won’t manage to address every one.
I love your comments dearly. Reading them is always a highlight of my day. I wish I had the hours to respond to each and every one, but it’s just not feasible. (If you email me, of course, I’ll email you back!)
I hope you’ll understand. And I hope you’ll enjoy using DISQUS!

I just started using Disqus and I love it! I like how much easier it makes responding to comments. I also recently started reading your blog and listening to your podcast. I’ve really enjoyed it!
I like the way the comment system works but I actually had less people commenting with it on my blog and lots of complaints. Hopefully it works well for you :) its not hard to use but some people don't want to learn how to work another comment form.
I hope that won't be the case here!
If any of you have issues with DISQUS, please do let me know – you can email me at craftypod AT deepideas DOT com.
Looks good! ( I don't think you have “failed” at any communication, Girl! You work hard to keep us informed and inspired!)
neat. i need to do something like this to my blog too…one day.
:-) Thank you! I'm still lobbying for that 32-hour day…
Cool – I'm really glad to see you're doing what you need to do to keep it all (somewhat) manageable! Love this disqus thing!
Yay for you! I hope this adds precious time to your day. Every day. xo!
So far, I'm loving it! Really, really simple to moderate. I highly
recommend this thing to WordPress bloggers.

Yay, Disqus! I've been using it for months now, and conversation on my blog has improved significantly! I hope you love it.
So far, it's great for moderation and time-saving!
