Hmmm… I poked around, but I don't see any social networking element

Actually, there are two ways around the long-URL thing:

1. The shorter your Smub username, the shorter those custom URLs would
be. (Not practical for all, of course, but an option.)

2. If you bypass the bookmarking and just Smub links directly to
Twitter (or wherever), it will auto-generate a much shorter,
randomized URL.

Oh thank goodness! You know, I've been noticing you using Smub, but hadn't been able to explore it much. I agree with planetjune and Kim re: the bar and the long URLs. But it seems like the ability to schedule out when you tweet something & keep track of stats and things you've bookmarked … maybe I can get over that.

Sometimes my head spins at all the ways to bookmark/share things/pictures. I'm ready for something that streamlines it all! A girl can dream, right? ;)

Ahh, now I see why you use this! As a Twitter user, I find the smub URLs annoying – they are so long, it makes it hard to RT your links because the URL uses so many characters. But I can see the usefulness as a link-saver and manager.

I'll admit, as a link-user, I'm less than thrilled with those bars,
too. But you can easily close the Smub bar on any web-page – there's a
Close button in the upper right corner.

It's very tempting as a link-sharer, but I gotta admit the bar it puts at the top of pages you go to as a link-user drives me batty. I don't know if it would drive me batty if it were the only service that does it, but with Facebook and ow.ly doing it, I feel like I'm back in the late '90s feeling stuck in frames again!

Still, I'd love such an easy way to keep track of stuff I want to share that's more flexible than queuing them up on Tumblr. Hmm…
