Yesterday’s book event at Twisted was just lovely! I arrived to find this in the shop’s front window – how freaking cool is that? Shannon and Emily, who co-own the store, are the kindest and most community-engaged women. If you haven’t visited Twisted, you really should. It’s such a great place to hang out.
(And, I might add, air-conditioned.)

We had a full table of makers the whole time, and so many dear friends stopped by. Thank you, Teresa, Bridget, Heather, Little E, and Sweetheart G, Sally, Lee, Jackie, and Merritt! I also got to meet some super-nice new people I’d only chatted with online or met through this blog – Thank you, everyone, for coming out!

My grandparents and aunt came by, too, and my grandfather made a Kanzashi! What a great sport! And it came out really cool – gave me some ideas for new designs…

I also got to sign books, which is a little surreal. Rachel, the special signing pens you gave me worked like a charm!
You can see more photos over here, including an awesome mosaic of makers and their Kanzashi.

The shot of your Grandpa doing Kanzashi is priceless.

The flowers are fabulous!
I wish I had known about the event I would have tried to make it in. I've never been to Twisted. I really must visit some time soon.
I'm glad you had a good time.
I love your flowers, I can't wait to try making some. Thanks for sharing the photos. How cool is it to have your family come to the workshop—I love the picture of your grandfather!!!
