Hello there! I'm Sister Diane and I have two grand passions: making crafts and making media. That's what I write about here, and sometimes, I get all thoughtful about internet culture and creative small businesses. Thanks for stopping by! Would you like some tea?

Mom reviews my book! (And makes something cool…)

It’s definitely a fun thing to have a book out, but I’ll tell you what’s way more fun: having your Mom review said book on her own blog, and make a killer project from it!

Mom did an awesome mashup of two projects in the book: the Tiny Blossom Earrings and the Back to Back Ornament. And she created these adorable ornaments for her mini holiday tree – they’re just 1″ across.

Her use of a bead cap as the flower center is pure genius. Wish I’d thought of that when I made the earrings!

Oh – and her review shows more of the projects – including the tea cozy that nearly killed me. But, more on that later…

Well, your mom rocks, that's that. I adore the tiny pendant she made for your book-signing. Priceless!

I'm quite impressed to see all the press you're book is getting! I thought is was extra fun to see it featured on Dude Craft of all things! Congratulations and I hope you're enjoying the ride!

    Wow ONE inch?? That's awesome!

My Mom (gotta love them right!) gave me a great idea for a kanzashi project! Might not have time to do it this week before traveling, but if not for sure when I get back! I'll be sure to share when I finish. :)

Aw, I wish I had a crafty blogging mom! I just got our copy of your book in the mail today, Diane, and am very much looking forward to giving some of the projects a shot. I LOVE that you offer so many uses for all these tiny, but too precious to throw out, scraps of favorite fabrics I have waiting in my scrap basket!

  • She did a great job with the review, the projects she made, and the photos. You're lucky to have such a talented mom!
