Hello there! I'm Sister Diane and I have two grand passions: making crafts and making media. That's what I write about here, and sometimes, I get all thoughtful about internet culture and creative small businesses. Thanks for stopping by! Would you like some tea?

Ebook Review: sewExpecting

I linked to this one in the latest podcast, but wanted to give it a fuller review here. Leigh Ann Tennant, who writes an excellent blog called The Object Project, has released an ebook of simple sewing projects for new mothers.

sewExpecting contains 20 projects, which include bibs, burp cloths, changing mats, diaper clutches, and blankets. There are several variations on each. All have nice, simple construction, so even beginning seamsters should be able to tackle them.

You can see a slideshow of all the finished projects over on Leigh Ann’s blog.

The ebook contains patterns and step-by-step instructions for each item, along with basic how-tos for patchwork and applique – techniques which make an appearance in many of the projects.

If you’re awaiting the arrival of a new little one, or you anticipate some baby showers in your future, this is a great collection of pretty, useful ideas.
