Mom and I had a nice visit to The Knittn’ Kitten this week, and here are the spoils!
There are three price tags on that card of turquoise shank buttons, chronicling their slow descent into the bargain bin. I got ‘em for 35 cents. They’ll make gorgeous Kanzashi centers!
Anitra blogged about the butterfly buttons from her Kitten visit last week, and I was glad to snag the last couple bags.

I also found two really pretty shades of burlap, and this stranded yarn, which I’ll use to play with my burlap weaving technique. Thinking about how this might translate to holiday ornaments….

Every time I go to The Kitten, I get more crewel wool. I have piles and piles of it now, but I keep acquiring more. I think it’s just a strong childhood pull – I spent most of my formative years doing crewel embroidery.

I also scored a couple of great vintage Christmas magazines, but I’ll save these for later posts. This tree skirt was an awesome find, though. I love the print. The hem still needs finishing, and I believe I’ll cut into the center and make a hole there for my tree’s trunk, so it lays flat around the base. Cool!
Locals, The Kitten can still use your support, so if you haven’t been in yet, please pay a visit soon!
