Hey, Portland – just a reminder to come hang out with Susan Beal, Alicia Paulson, and me this Sunday at 2:00 at Hollywood Library. We’re presenting a Crafty Writers Talking session, and we’d love to answer your questions about writing and publishing craft books.
Details are here. Please join us!

My friend and I have plans to leave the kids at home and try and make it over there. It would be great to hear everything you three have to say.
Yay! I look forward to meeting you in person!
I wish I could come! I'm working that day. Definitely a great panel!
I would so love to go to this- wish I was closer!
wish I could go! have a fantastic day!
Oh, the times I wished I lived in Portland! What a panel! Have fun — I'm sure it will be awesome.
Have fun today! I so wished I was close to all of you, so I could pay a visit. These are the times I really ponder the possibilities of emigrating ;-)
Hi Diane
I so wish I was at Hollywood hosting your panel. I am at the other building covering.
HOPE IT GOES GREAT!
Aw, we missed you, but it did go great! A really nice turnout, and
lots of excellent questions. Sorry you couldn't be there!
I was so disappointed to not be able to make it yesterday, but i'm wondering
if you ladies have plans to do another talk anytime soon? I was really
hoping to hear what all of you had to say on the subject. I've heard Alicia
speak on the topic at her first book signing at Powell's and I've listened
to your Podcast on the topic and that was really helpful. I have SO many
ideas floating around my head, I actually talked with a publisher about an
idea and there was interest. I talked briefly with a literary agent as
well. But I go back and forth on whether an agent is the route to go right
now. The publisher I talked with doesn't require you to have an agent to
submit a proposal, but the publisher i'd like to have my proposal before
does. So basically i'm at the writing my proposal phase. Which I have
started, I just get discouraged sometimes because I see my ideas popping up
in new books our out there on the web and don't want to rehash the same old
stuff. Then there is the time commitment. With my 15 month old, I want to
make sure I can dedicate the time to work on the project should it be
accepted…but i'm pretty sure I can make that work. I don't honestly know
why i'm dragging my feet so much. Anyways, the point of all of that being
that hearing you talk about it would have been very helpful.

Sure wish I could have come. I was painting faces at the Portland Pirate Festival though. Drat it. Why do all the wonderful things happen on the same weekend?!
It's just Portland! We have so many cultural riches, it's impossible to support them all. No worries – the library plans to release a podcast. I'll put up the link when I have it.
Great event. Did you mention podcast audience? Where do I find said podcast?
Yes! The Library is making a podcast from the event. I'll share the
link once it's available.
