ACK! I nearly forgot to post the second half of my epic plastic canvas haul! Here are more treasures Amy was kind enough to let me have…

A whole pile of Christmas ornament kits!

One bajillion pre-cut snowman shapes!

…And best of all, this angel kit. This is some amazing PC architecture, my friends.

Just to give you an idea, those bodies are made out of several rolled-up segments like this. (I love that this kit was partially made!)

In addition to the PC, there are also a few of these intriguing little kits. The base is heavy perforated paper, and then you stitch seed beads onto it in a pattern, adding embroidery embellishments.
(Incidentally, read more about perforated paper over at Needle ‘n Thread.)

Lastly, look at these awesome little styrofoam balls, which I will probably never use because the package is just too beautiful.

The scary thing: I've worked with some of those pc shapes, I've done lots of work on perf. paper. and I one time made a centerpiece with similar styrofoam pieces.
You hauled off my past!
Also, my MIL made those angels for everyone she knew- I think I still own one.
Heh – further proof, we might just have been separated at birth. :-)
You are SO a girl after my own crafting-heart! I can't use some of my vintage findings because of that very reason…packaging just ain't what it used to be.
Totally! Packaging is so utilitarian and boring now. I always want to
rescue the pretty vintage stuff.
I can't wait to see what you come up with! That is A LOT of plastic canvas – where do you keep it all?
I thought of you and your PC addiction the other day. I went to see the Grey Gardens musical and Big Edie had a PC tissue box cover in gold with a red bird on the side. It was in the bed with her (along with many other things.) I was looking for styrofoam balls at Dick Blick and Target last week for dd’s model of the element Selenium. Ended up using large wooden beads on chenille stems.
Thank goodness for the garage! :-)
…See, that's what I call an excellent prop-master. :-)
that floating angel head is creepy :p
pretty good haul of plastic canvas. wont run out for awhile
Hee hee… I could not resist posing it like that. :-)
That perforated paper is really ol skool. Like ol ol ol skool – 1800's. Clearly the cardinal is from the 1980's or so and the kit is what it is but the technique is old. I worked at a historical farm as a teen and this was one of the activities we demonstrated.
Sometimes you can find samplers at antique stores like this one

It's often called German paper punch or punched paper needlework. It's very lovely when it's done with less bulky thread and without beading.
29cents?! Holy moly!!

Sorry, Donna – I think your best bet is to check eBay. I’m pretty sure this pattern is no longer in production.
thank you SisterDiane.I will check ebay.DonnaStroud

Where can I find the pattern for the needlecraft plastic canvas angel shown on your Epic Plastic Canvas Haul, Part 2 page. I used it a few years ago but have lost it. Can you help me?
I’m sorry, Patricia – I’m not sure where or whether it’s still being sold anywhere. I have no idea how long it was in the stash it was gifted to me from. You might try periodic searches on eBay for “plastic canvas angel kit vintage”.
