Yaaaay, the new Craft Leftovers Monthly is out! And this issue is bigger and prettier than ever!
CLM is one of my favorite indie publishing efforts, and it’s been such fun to watch it grow and change over its first year. Kristin has put a lot of effort into this project, and has blossomed as a designer, writer, and illustrator in the process.
Further proof that self-publishing is good for you!

There’s lots of craft in this issue: quilling, crochet, and knitting, to name a few. And as always, Kristin offers up great projects you can make with stuff you have leftover from other projects.

Fanie Gregoire has contributed a whole slew of homemade bath and body recipes, and her whimsical illustrations. (I’m definitely trying her Coconut Exfoliant.)

…And there are lots of fun ways to celebrate Winter, and plenty of tasty recipes. I’m also loving Leo Babuta‘s article on getting motivated.
All in all, a charming, high-value read. And, because she is awesome, Kristin is offering up three copies for me to give away!
To enter, just leave a comment here and tell me what your favorite Winter activity is. I’ll draw three winners at random on Friday, November 27. (Be sure to include your email address in your comment, so I can contact you!)
UPDATE: This drawing is now concluded. Would you like to see who won?

Well, crafting gifts is obviously the best winter activity!
2nd is eating all the yummy stuff other people cool.
ooh, I love to look at snowflakes and to make tiny snowmen with the bit of snow we occasionally get here in Texas.
Very cool giveaway – I've thought about getting Craft Leftovers a few times and if i won it would be the perfect opportunity for me to see whether or not I'd really like it!
My favourite Winter activity would either have to be ice skating with a cup of hot chocolate after, or sitting inside all toasty and warm (with a cup of coffee or cider or hot chocolate) quilting while a storm rages out of doors.
Hi, Sister Diane. What a great giveaway! I have never heard of this magazine before, but would like to try it out.
Let's see, my favorite winter activity… probably curling up under an afghan and reading a good book, while soup cooks in the crock pot. How's that? :-)
Thanks! I'm a fan of your podcast and your blog. You are definitely a crafty inspiration!

Drinking tea! Lots and lots of tea!
My favorite winter activity is knitting by the fire . . . what can I say, the cold doesn't do it for me. :P
Drinking cocoa spiked with peppermint schnapps. wheee!!
I am not very fond of the winter or cold weather so I enjoy staying indoors getting stuff accomplished that I normally wouldn't do when it is nice out.
Ooh…I would love to win a copy! My favorite winter activity is crocheting blankets – keeps my fingers moving and warm, and once I make some progress I can cover up while I work.
My favourite winter activity is baking and roasting. I just love the warmth of the oven and the smells that fill the closed-up house. Mmm…
My favorite winter activity is to crochet my little fingers away! Scarves are my favorite things right now, but I'm going to branch out and try some sweaters this winter. Love this giveaway!
Yay! That looks awesome! My fave winter activity is…eating! Does that count? Maybe you meant something crafty…I guess I would have to go with knitting then since all that fiber can help keep you warm.
I am excited for this issue of craft leftovers, it looks awesome. One of my favorite winter activities is entertaining and hosting winter parties, whether holiday themed or not.
Hmmmm….WINTER….Yuck! My favorite winter activity is crocheting while a fire is going in the fireplace. COZY! Awesome giveaway….thanks.
I love walking in the cold, with the added bonus of hot drinks and snuggles once I get back inside. The zine looks cool!
I love taking long bubble baths with my 2 kitties spying me in the bathroom wondering just why I would soak myself in water.
I love roasting marshmallows on a fire in the fireplace, with Christmas lights on all around!
It would be stuffing the kids' stockings…. and watching them dive into them!
I actually like to scrape the ice off my car, for the first time in the year. Its a weird OCD thing. It means i get to play with the ice and snow and then remove it and move on. I dont bother shoveling the walkaway just so long as my car is good.
Every Christmas Eve, I make a batch of fantastically alcoholic eggnog, and my husband pulls out his guitar. We spend the night singing Christmas carols and sitting in front of the fire, until midnight comes and we exchange tiny presents with each other. I look forward to it all winter long.
My favorite winter activity is walking in heavy, softly falling snow. Preferably somewhere quiet so that I can hear the tiny sounds of the snow falling on itself. I love watching it out the windows, too.
Hm… We don't really have “winter” in southern California. I'd have to say I love that I can often cavort around in shorts during the winter here.
Favourite winter activity? Of course, curling up with a good book, with a proper fire crackling in the grate, and a cup of steaming hot black chai beside me!
Winter is for beer brewing!
Winter isn't really winter here in Alabama, but it still occasionally frosts; I love a walk in the woods when everything is frosted in shimmery ice crystals.
We don't get that much snow, so I would say going for a walk at night after a snow when the whole world seems to be glowing is my favorite thing!
I love snuggling up in a warm bed reading, cats sleeping all around me. I also love crochet in winter, at the moment I'm working on yet another shawl.

Woot! Thanks for the review, Diane! I'm glad you like my illustration and tutorial. :-) The Coconut exfolliant is one of my favorite recipe as well, I'm sure you'll like it.
Cheers! ^-^
My favorite winter activity is walking on the beach. It's always beautiful, clears the mind, frees the spirit, and relieves cabin fever.
I have been lucky enough to get one of her zines, and it's sweet! She's really been dedicated, no matter what's going on for her.
And I look forward to yours, too!
Looks like a cute zine!
My favorite winter activity is curling up under a blanket with a never ending cup of hot chocolate and a good movie or magazine!

My favorite winter activities are playing in the snow with the kids, drinking hot chocolate, and snuggling with a warm rice bag.
Whoa! I can't pass this opportunity up!
Favority winter activity? I love needlecrafts and winter is such a good time to do them…it's cold, you're inside, and what could make it better than to tat little butterflies or stitch an heirloom embroidery or keep warm by crocheting an afghan.
I love baking during the winter time. I love the spices that are used at this time: cinnamon, cloves, ginger, nutmeg. YUM!
