Hello there! I'm Sister Diane and I have two grand passions: making crafts and making media. That's what I write about here, and sometimes, I get all thoughtful about internet culture and creative small businesses. Thanks for stopping by! Would you like some tea?

Mark Your Calendar: Free Online Class – Value 101!

This is just a quick, mark-your-calendars note. I promise I have some crafty blog posts in the works for you, and they’re coming soon.

But that’s not what I want you to mark you calendar for. Actually, I’m holding a fabulous, free, one-day online class next week, called Value 101. And I’d love for you to stop in!

This idea of “Value” is central to so many things we’re all trying to do online. A great craft blog delivers value. On Twitter and Facebook, the more Value you deliver, the more people will listen do you. And in our discussions of Free, we’ve talked about how giving away Value helps people trust you and brings you opportunities.

If you’re not clear on what “Value” is all about, then stop by my class! It’s Wednesday, March 10th, from 6:00 am – 10:00 pm PST. I’ll give you a link to the online class space on that day, so tune in here.

The class is a mix of blog content, podcast content, video, forum discussion, and live chat. I’ll be around to answer your questions about Value as it relates to your craft blogs and businesses. If you’ve never taken an online class before, this freebie is a nice way to see what they’re all about.

I’m totally looking forward to this! So, more info to come next week!

  • Woohoo! Very exciting, and excellent scheduling – I have a crafternoon on Wednesdays when my little one goes to nursery :)

  • Would we need to be around all day or could we pop in and out? Cause 10pm PST is like 6am here!

  • SisterDiane

You're welcome to pop in and out!

It's never easy to schedule these things around all the different time
    zones involved – sorry!

  • SisterDiane

    Awesome! See you there!

  • rootmixblogspotcom

oooh! looks fun! i'll be stopping in for sure!

(p.s. thanks to you and your podcasts with dudecraft, i'm kicking off my crafty/bloggy business with *free* and *abundance* in mind! it'll be much more fun to share my internet finds and crafty tips than trying to hoard them!)

    xoxo,

Diane, I see that your event is on Wednesday, March 10th, from 6:00 am – 10:00 pm PST. Is it a 16-hour course? (just noticed that one bit!)

  • SisterDiane

Hi, Amy – the class space will indeed be open for 16 hours, so that
people in lots of time zones can drop by. It's very much a drop-in
kind of class – nobody need stay for 16 hours!

I will be in and out of the live chat space during that time, and will
post the hours I'll be available for chat closer to the 10th.

  • oooh Can't Wait! I loved the last class I took with you.

I look forward to seeing you there!

  • This sounds fabulous! I'll be linking in the News Roundup.

  • SisterDiane

    Thanks so much, Rachel!

I work at Day Job on Wednesdays, will the content be available even if I can't “attend” the class? Very interested.

  • SisterDiane

Not to worry, Laura – the class space will be open from 6:00 am –
10:00 pm PST (sixteen hours) You can drop into the class anytime you
like. The material will all be there for the whole time, so you can
learn as you're available outside your work hours.

I'll be in the chat space several times during the day for Q &A as
    well. Hope you'll stop in!

i am excited for this… i've been wanting to try one of your classes but can't figure out a good time to 'commit' to one, so this'll be a good trial for me! it's very timely because i just finally joined FB and started a fan page; i had been resisting because between the blog, etsy shop, ravelry, website for my classes i teach, flickr, and oh yeah, actually MAKING STUFF i am a bit overwhelmed!

  • SisterDiane

Heh – it really CAN be a lot to keep up on, Cal! I hope you find
Wednesday useful. We'll be focusing on how to produce content that's
memorable and useful for your audience. I do cover more time-
management subjects in my other courses, so if you like this one-day
experience, you might want to check out the others. I'm looking
forward to seeing you next week!
