Woo-Hoo! I’ve just put the finishing touches on my free, one-day online class, Value 101. It’s tomorrow, people – as in, Wednesday, March 10th!
Updated to add: Class was a huge success, and the class space is now closed. Thanks to everyone who stopped in. I’ll probably offer Value 101 again as a free class later this year.
If you’ve never taken an online class before, here’s what you can expect…

How do I get in?
Tomorrow morning at 6:00 am PST (9:00 am EST), I will post the link to the class space here (and also on Twitter). When you click on that link, you’ll be taken to the Value 101 class space.
I’m using a website called Ning for this class. Some of you might already have an account on Ning because you’ve participated in other people’s classes (or mine). If you have an account, you’ll be able to sign in to the Value 101 class with your existing Ning ID and password.
If you’re all, “What’s Ning?”, never fear. There will be “Sign Up” buttons all over the place. Click any of them, create a quick profile, and you’re in. Nobody will spam you.
Once you’re in, you might like to pop into your Ning profile and add a picture of yourself, so we all know who’s who.

When should I show up? How long do I have to be there?
The beauty of online classes is, you can take the material at your own pace, as you have time. So, the class space will be open for sixteen hours – 6:00 am – 10:00 pm PST. You can pop in at any time during those hours, stay as long as you like, and even pop in and out.
If you read, watch, and listen to all of the content, it should take you about an hour in total. Nobody, not even me, has to stay for the full sixteen hours. :-)

Didn’t you say something about live chats?
I’ll be around the class space most of the day, making sure it all runs smoothly. And I’ll be available for live chats during these times:
- 8:00 -10:00 am PST (11am – 1pm EST)
- 12:00 n – 2:00 pm PST (3:00 pm – 5:00 pm EST)
- 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm PST (7:00 pm – 9:00 pm EST)
Please feel free to stop by during these chats! Ask any questions you have about value, or we can talk about your blog specifically and see how to add more value to it. Just show up in the chat space and type a howdy.

Will you archive this material, if I can’t make it tomorrow?
Sorry, I won’t keep a permanent archive of this class online. My hope is that, with sixteen hours of class time, most everyone will be able to get to the class space at some point in the day.
Although, if people seem to find this class enjoyable, I’ll likely run it again later in the year.
Okay, all that said . . . I’m so looking forward to tomorrow!

Cool! Hope I can make it. I'm about 9 hours ahead of you.
I hope you can make it, too. Sorry – it wasn't easy to arrive at a time that made sense for all the different time zones.
No need to apologize! You're covering quite a generous swathe of time as it is. I'm sure it'll be great.
BUh… I was really interested, reading the forums and looking for the podcasts, but then we had some earthquakes and forgot about it… and now it's closed :(
Anyway, what I read was great.
Thanks.
Earthquakes? Holy Moly.
I do plan to offer the class again later in the year, Patty – so I
hope you'll be able to join us for that one.
Diane — Thank you so much for offering the class yesterday. Such great content, and it was enormously generous of you to provide it. Love the podcast, too!
