It’s a bizzy week around here, but I wanted to pop in and share this work-in-progress. I’m tricking out my Crafty Chica Cruise apron to wear in Thursday’s SCRAP Rebel Craft Rumble.
(For deets, read this post. I’m going to be the Craft Master!)
Anyway. It’s awesome to have an application for the giant sequins! And I’m considering adding more buttons and maybe a little Sharpie tie-dye.
All those big star sequins are sewn at the top only, so they kind of sway in the breeze. Heh heh heh.
What else should I add to this thing?

Buttons! Lots and lots of buttons!
Good luck and can't WAIT to hear all about it!
xox
Hee hee – right you are! More buttons!! Maybe I'll put a bunch of my great grandmother's buttons on it for extra crafty mojo. :-)
Have you ever played with 007 Bonding agent?? It’s super fun when used with jones tones foils and perfect for embellishing…
I used it on a billion things for embellishing here’s an example how it works and a project I did

Wonderful regalia befitting your role, me thinks Diane!
Many buttons sounds wonderful, but you could always add a crown!! lol.
Good luck and have fun!
Heh heh… I keep considering some kind of plastic canvas crown, but that's a bit of an undertaking for this late date. :-)
Maybe a kanzashi flower pin? Buttons are a great suggestion, too ;)
I think it’s just crying out for a bit of textured embroidery… or maybe some rick-rack? so little time… do you have any plastic scrappy pieces or lids you could combine with the buttons? I wish the idea of a crown had come up earlier… maybe we could have made contributions for your costume! It would have been fun!
Sure – maybe a Kanzashi would be good, too. Or I could make a headband-y thing.
Very cool! It seems like a norm to have a craft apron now…usually I just get myself all messy :)
Oh, I think that hem is in need of some giant ball fringe.
Wow! That's absolutely beautiful, Sarah. Thanks for the link!
Aw, agreed! I should have thought about this sooner, so it could have been a group project. That would've been so cool!
If I come I just might have to wear my crafty hat creation… one of those things that got me started on my return to the “crafty side”. Now I guess I'll either have to come or dig up a picture…
More buttons!
Not that I’m an unbiased sort; I’m such a button addict, I’ve started making my own, and feel bad that I haven’t blogged about much else in the last couple of weeks.
Definitely, Kay! One or the other. I love things that are emblems of our crafty sides!
Oh, I'm loving this, girl! I think each star sequin should have a photo of Pushkin on it. And I don't see one yoyo or feather. How much are you using the pockets? One of the pockets should have your moo card in it, with a strand of floss hanging out of the pocket with a bead. That way, as you walk around people can pull out a moo card.
How much time do you have?
okay.
Did I mention I'm trapped here in the San Gabriel valley, jealous as hell that I can't be there?
HAHAHAHA! Not THAT much time! :-) I still have to make a halo and a wimpole before 5pm. :-)
Looks like the perfect attire for a Craft Master! the giant sequins are my favorite element.
Thread beads onto a safety pin and then stitch that on? Thanks for the sharpie tie dye tutorial. Never seen that before!
Ooh, that's a cool idea! *files that away for next year*
It's fab! I hope the event was a success!
