Hello there! I'm Sister Diane and I have two grand passions: making crafts and making media. That's what I write about here, and sometimes, I get all thoughtful about internet culture and creative small businesses. Thanks for stopping by! Would you like some tea?

  • Thanks for doing this series on Google Analytics…I like how it's bite-sized and not overwhelming…

  • Another fantastic video, Diane. I'm really getting a lot out of this Google Analytics series.

Thank you, Kirsty – if there are any features of Analytics you've been wondering about, please let me know and I'll make videos of them!

  • I haven't researched how the goal setting works or how creating annotations might be helpful, so if you're inclined…. ;) I am falling in deep nerdy, nerdy love with this series – thanks! :)

  • Hi Diane, I love this series! You've got such a talent for making the technical side of running a creative business, simple and easy to understand! Thank you!

    My questions are:
    1) What is the difference between “google.com (referral)” and “google (organic)”? In Traffic Sources.
    2) I'd love a tutorial on which figures one should keep an eye on regularly. Something that gives a useful summary, with improvable data, and actions to go with it? Like a very short checklist perhaps? As a compliment to these wonderful in-depth readings.

Again, MANY thanks for this series!

  • SisterDiane

Ooh – GREAT suggestions! Thank you, Elizabeth! I loves me some deep, nerdy love. :-)

  • SisterDiane

Thank you, Kate! Those are both good suggestions. To some extent, what you pay regular attention to depends on your goals for your blog. But definitely, that idea could be organized around a few common goals. I am on it! :-)

  • Hello Diane, I never had the patience and time to get into the whole Google Analytics application thingy, but thanks for introducing me to this! Way cool, and I'm gonna get more into this. Thanks for the clear and helpful walkthroughs. Greetz.

  • Found you site through your sister as I was pinning about buttons and pinned your button brooch. Then saw your videos which are wonderful and am pinning them on my blogging pinboard. I’m a new blogger and enjoyed hearing about your mom too.
