Such a good podcast! Thanks to you both. As someone who has started to accept ads recently, the information was invaluable. Thanks to Jena for laying bare all the ins and outs of what it takes to have ads, and thanks to you Diane, as usual, for your awesome line of questioning with your guest. You guys are great!
Thank you Diane & Jena. This podcast was super helpful. I just inherited The Needle blog and want to move it from the subscription ads to ones that I have more control over. I appreciate all the detailed information.
Please Sister Diane, I have just come across your blog. Yay!! And I was so excited to see that you have many crafty podcasts to check out too. Trouble is, my sound is giving me grief on my computer, so I thought it would be nice to be able to download a few of them to my MP3 player and listen to them while my feet are banging on the treadmill at the gym. However, it turns out that I’m not quite as puter literate as I liked to think I was, and I can’t for the life of me figure out how to get the podcast from your site here to my MP3 player (which by the way is just a regular old player and not one of those fancy schmancy Ipod doo-dads) I tried googling to find out how, but only came up with Ipod or Iphone and Itunes to work. Is our world being overtaken with the letter I? Idobelieve!!!
Hi, Debbie – the key will be the music software that comes with your MP3 player. Can you give me any details on that?
Well, the thing is, I can’t really help you with getting my podcasts onto your MP3 player unless I can get some idea of how you usually move any music to that player. Every player operates differently. You can download the show to your computer by clicking the “download” link near the podcast player graphic on each individual post. Once it’s on your computer, I assume you can plug your Sansa into the computer and move over the file – but without knowing more about how the Sansa operates, it’s hard for me to give you a specific process. Have you tried consulting your manual?
I just plug in my MP3 player to my computer and transfer the music files to it. Pretty simple. I have tried downloading your podcasts to my computer, but all that happens is that another window opens and loads up the player, with no way to save the file, or at least no way that I can see.
Maybe try right-clicking on the Download links on my blog? That should give you some menu options that would give you control over where the podcast file is saved. Then, maybe you can save the podcast file to the same place on your computer where your music is stored, and then it would be there when you plug in your MP3 player.
