Back before I stopped podcasting, I had signed up to be part of the blog tour for Kathy Cano Murillo‘s new novel, Miss Scarlet’s School of Patternless Sewing. So here’s a fun podcast interview with the Crafty Chica herself, all about the new book and her burgeoning career as an author of crafty fiction.
If you want a little more glimpse into the book, check out this video trailer Kathy put together!

just waiting on a digital edition :)
And now it is available!!!! and residing in my kindle app on my ipad :)
glad to hear another fun podcast. Sounds like an unique book. I really like hearing how she wrangles and intertwines her many creative passions. I try to do the same. But I think I sometimes seem scattered, but they need to feed off one another. Thanks.
So nice to hear your voice on my iPod again! Great interview & I can’t wait to see what you have cooked up for your video series…
I hope to have the videos up and running soon! Life has been getting in the way so far this year. :-/
I’m thinking about writing a lot lately (or as always) so this was a great listen, thanks for a great interview. Makes me sad though that you’ve stopped podcasting, I miss listening to you a whole lot. Have you considered a payed podcast subscription? Take care!
I miss making podcasts, too! Paid subscriptions are one of the sustainability models I’m considering. I’ll definitely be wrapping back to this subject in future!

Diane and Kathy, this is SUCH a great interview! I have listened to it two and a half times (and will listen again). Kathy, I love the detail you go into, and it is great hearing the history of how you got to this point in your writing. Diane, thanks for the new podcast! I love them.
Yay! I hope you enjoy the book! I really think Kathy’s spirit shines through.
Interesting interview. Kathy’s enthusiasm is infectious! By the way, she wrote an extremely helpful post about putting together a non-fiction book proposal that I used to guide me through the process of writing my own proposal. She also encouraged me to keep going, to keep trying with my publishing efforts.
Oh, yes – I think I remember that post – this one, right? http://thecraftychica.blogspot.com/2009/09/inspiration-friday-how-to-write-book.html
I love Kathy’s genuine enthusiasm and support for others.
I think I’d seen some things about Kathy’s book around the web before, but after listening to your podcast Diane, it’s now a must-read! I’m so glad you did the interview!
I was going to hit ‘reply’ to my own comment, but I thought that was a bit…
…something…
anyway, I felt the need to come back here, since I see I’ve already commented, and add that I’ve run out and ordered her new book (it’s actually being delivered with the Danny Gregory book) because Glitter is bolted to my bookshelf with one of those chains like some of those guys wear, looped around with a watch on it or whatever they do (they are SO odd), and no one, and I mean: No One. is taking that book out of this house. They are going to have to BUY THEIR OWN. Which isn’t really by way of explanation as to why I ordered the next one, except that
…I had to buy a two-pack of chains, so I might as well have use for the other one, since NO ONE is getting that one, either.
I’m saying: these are MINE, all MINE!
(She’s one fun writer. Very kind as well, and would probably lend a person books from her shelves if they wanted them.)
C
p.s. Okay. I’m not making any more comments until tomorrow.
