So. Last we talked, I was taking an extended leave of absence from podcasting. Lately, I’ve been thinking hard about how I might be able to bring the CraftyPod show back, and make it sustainable.

I could use your help with this thinking. Can you please take about five minutes and respond to this little survey I put together?

Your responses will help me design the future of CraftyPod, so I really, really appreciate your input. Thank you!

I chose “once a week” for the last question, but every-other-week would be fine, too.  When I’ve paid for podcasts in the past, (by supporting them with donations to NPR), I consider how often they come out, how bereft I would be if they didn’t, and choose a level of support based on that.  So any schedule you like is fine, but once a week is something like twice as valuable as every-other-week, in my head.  (assuming, of course, that the content doesn’t get diluted by the pace!)

I’m totally excited that you’re considering this!  I miss CraftyPod.  Also – if you’re going to charge by the episode, consider releasing short “teasers” for each episode.  Or something like that – a podcast I listen to releases it’s new podcasts for free, but has bundled some of the past episodes into a package that they sell, so if new listeners want to hear all of the back-episodes, they can purchase them.  Good luck figuring all of this out!

Hi Diane!  I just took the survey and I am SO excited about the potential return of the podcast.  I hope this community can come together and find a way to make it work!

One small issue for me: Ravelry wasn’t on the list as an option of where I spend most of my internet time! :)

Well, since I’m not on Rav myself much, and CraftyPod really isn’t fiber-centric enough to have any presence there, I didn’t include it. Sorry!

would love to see the survey results when you get done!

  • Just hoping you’re finding some time for yourself in there!  Hugs, B
